My COD2 worked fine before, but with the latest patch, I'm getting system freezes when trying to load mp maps (Beltot and Rostov so far). Anyone else getting this?
Also, the new maps, Wallender and Rostov, don't come up in the start new server list.
hmm, should have tried searching first, as there are existing threads about this already.
Anyway, try deleting your player config_mp file (found in the player profile folder). this resets all your system settings for the game.
If that doesnt help, reinstall your graphics driver. Freezes are normally to do with these.
Great, now absolutely nothing works.
How to fix Attempted to overrun string in call to va() ?
no idea without knowing exactly what you did. was it a deletion of the player profile? or a reinstall of a driver?
I don't spend enough time here

I had the same problem as you. When I downloaded, All-Seeing-Eye,(which you can download from yahoo.com for free) I connected through one server from there and since I did that no more freezes. I don't even need to open it anymore.
I've noticed the eame thing. I've had my game just all of a sudden have the game just shut down and boot me back to the desktop...anyone else with this problem??
Ive been getting the same problems, only when i get hit by a nade it just freezes up and send me back to desktop...Anyone else know what to do about this? ive already deleted my player profile file, but im not sure how to reinstall my graphics driver. Can someone help me with that?
Well, I wiped my config file and reinstalled COD2 - NOW, when I reinstall patch 1.2, every time I try and connect to mp it says my key code is in use, please try again later! What the h*** is the problem with this damn patch now?
the problem with the cd key being "in use" is a slow connection to the Master server.
I understand from what they are saying on the Evenbalance site that this problem is being looked into as many, many players are getting it. It is caused by the introduction of PB streaming to the PB MBL server.
I dont know if its any consolation, but you are not alone, and at least they acknowledge that there is a problem, and will attempt to resolve it.
Well it now seems that I'm in a timed game since the new patch has been installed. Why on earth would Activision put out a patch that would cause so many problems? The last time I was playing MOH and patched that game the same thing happened. I resloved the problem was to upgrade to my current video card. Is this what I now have to do?
