I have a big problem here and im hoping someone can shed some light.. I bought the dvd edition of COD2. I have NEVER been able to get single player to work at all. only multiplayer. I try to start a single player game, OR try to access the options menu from multiplayer, and I get the message... "cod2sp_s.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close" the technical info of the error doesnt say much, and the **** error report refuses to show up on the MS site, at least they can say if its a driver or whatever. i dont believe its a driver tho. I am able to play multiplayer maps just fine. game runs great. just cannot access singleplayer. any help would be appreciated.
Reinstall COD2 and try again is all I can think of, sorry.
ok..i should have put this in there before..here goes. Reinstalled COD.. reinstalled it using a MAPPED DVD drive on another computer installed the game on another computer, copied the whole damn thing over to my computer, overwriting the game (the game worked on that computer, but it doesnt have the vid card to run it properly) copied ALL of the contents of the Data folder containing all the archives over one at a time directly from the cd. reinstalled WINDOWS!! :banghead: everythings updated fully activision wont help at all, and every search i try for this ends up at a cd cracking site. strangely enough..i dont like cod2 multiplayer..but thats all i can do. if anyone can help, id appreciate it
Do you have the latest drivers installed? Especialy for Video Card? You have to know that NVidia released a special update of his drivers for this game.
Have you got the disc in the drive? Can't play SP without it!
Make sure you shortcut command line is the one in you files. the EXE one.
I have a similar problem, although I also have the problem when I put the COD2 DVD in my PC - "COD2.exe has encountered a problem", and the multiplayer shortcut! Therefore...I cannot play the game at all! I ran the install program on the DVD seperately so the game is installed, but I just cannot run it because of this problem.
Any ideas?
I have an AMD 2800XP, MSI K7N2 motherboard with 2GB RAM and a Radeon 9600pro video card.
Bumping is bad :nono:
If someone had a solution he/she would have posted it, don't you think?
