Ok, well, there i was, playing cod2, when i realised i didnt like all the mods that i had installed. Some of the mods (FOR SOME REALLY WIERD REASON) dont go away unless u unistall, so i was like ''no biggy''. I hit unistall, and after five minutes, nothing popped up. I tried again. Same thing happend. So i was like '' here ill just delete the activision folder.'' So i did. Deleted all my stuff, but i took out my save games etc. SO i put disc 1 in right? The half size black screen appears, right? it has Activison on it with the loading bar under it. It loads up... And says the following: Play Single Player Player Multiplayer Options Unistall Extras Help Quit EVEN THOUGH I DELETED THE FOLDER, so im like OOOOMMMGGGG! NOW I CANT REINSTALL IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HELP!!!!!!!!!! (btw i hit unistall at that point, and nothing appeard that time either) Help me :bawl: :bawl: :bawl:

Click Start and go to 'run', and type in:

regedit

Press enter.

When the Registry Editor pops up, click on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE to expand the tree out. Find SOFTWARE

You will see the Activision folder. If you have COD1 and UO installed, open the folder, and highlight the COD2 folder, and delete it.

If you dont have COD1 and UO installed, highlight the Activision folder, and delete it.

When you put your CD in again, you will be able to install again.

You have a missing file in the installsheild database.

Installsheild is third-party software.

Visit their site and see how to fix the problem here:

you have a problem in your copy of installsheild. I dont see whats not clear about it?

Whether its XP or 2000, the problem is there in installshield.

google for a solution. I cant fix it for you. I get loads of these "help me because Im too lazy to try anything myself" posts, and I always say the same thing: google is your friend - use it!
