Hi, I'm helping to run a tactical realism server with my squad, and we're looking at editing the weapons to be a little more realistic in their damage etc.

Our problem is we don't understand what all of the values stand for. Are the values in feet, inches, metres? Does a comprehensive list of all the values and their meanings exist? Thanks for any help you can give.

The weapons files are in the IW_11.iwd file. Change the ext to.zip and open. drag the files for either MP or SP to a folder, mod them and then drag them back to the open zip file.

I've mucked around with the weapons values like you are trying to do. In my research I found that roughly 256 units of length in the game equals about 6.5 meters in real life. So I figured, 1 meter equals 39.385 cod4 length units. I'm not too good at the maths but it seemed to work for me, I was able to tweak the blast radius of a frag and it was definately bigger. I have also mucked around with the cyclic rate of some of the guns. I can't remember the units for these and how to compare them to an actual rounds-per-minute value, I just got the value by trial and error, knowing that an AK47 has a cyclic rate of 600 rpm, (10 rounds per second). With such a cyclic rate, in theory you should be able to use up a clip in 3 seconds exactly, and it looks like I got the timing pretty spot on. The value for the firetime attribute that I use is 0.075. It confused the hell out of me to actually calculate the value for 1 unit to be able to use that as a reference, but you might have more luck :D I have done quite a few tweaks in my mod. If you need any more advice or anything, I might be able to help, so give me a shout. I am also working to see if there is a way to modify the iron sights of the guns and how to change the color and transparency of the tracer bullets for all the guns, if you know how I can achieve this, I'd greatly appreciate your help. :)

Call of Duty 4 Info - Guns - Perks and More - NextGenUpdate

This has a few charts that are helpful with Unit calculations, as well as some other stuff.

CoD4 Central | CoD4 Stats Overview | CoD4Central.com | Your Main Call of Duty 4 / World at War / Modern Warfare 2 Source.

I'm still able to view this one.

If you aren't able to view some of the charts, I can remember a few thing:

Them square garden-ish things on Bloc, on both sides of the statue garden, are exactly 400*400u. A GL will cover an entire one of those squares from edge to edge, roughly (it has an explosion radius of 375u, or roughly 9 meters.)

The Unit→ Metric conversion is actually very close to 41.6666666667u = ~1meter, give or take a few decimal points (I'm lazy, sorry. Lol)

Hope that helps at least a tiny bit.

You can also use "7zip" and open it without renaming.
