During play i have all these glitches and crap..it makes it to where i cant see. Bars and triangles and lines rune through the screen..What do i do. i have tried a low res.. still nothing, if i re install will i lose my character?

Some specs would be nice, then maybe we can help you, but as far as the rank is concerned, just back up the "players" folder in your directory, default C:\Program Files\Call of Duty 4:Modern Warfare\players - but as i said provide some PC specs and we may be able to help :)

Not if you make a copy of a map called profile and paste it back after you reinstalled the game. Also when you uninstall the installer will ask you if you want to keep your profile and saved games. If you click Yes I want to keep them it will leave them where they need to be. If you install after that to the same destination there is no problem.

crack open ur case, and tell us whats in the box (cpu, ram, vga, mobo, o/s) and dont be afraid to go into details

btw my moneys on ur vga overheating or the ram on it went on holyday, try to take off the side of the case (while powered on) and see if the fan is spinning, if it is, leave the side open and try the game and see if it helps

It could always be a DX Problem.Update your direct x,and see if that helps.
