I just installed COD4 on my new PC and when i try to open multiplayer it says it didn't close properly last time it ran. i don't see how this can happen since i have never played it before, it asks me to run run it in safe mode i have tried clicking both yes and no but it then proceeds to tell me that iw3mp.exe has a problem. i have tried un installing the game then re-installing it but i still have the same problem. WHAT DO I DO. i have tried other forums but they have been of no use they just keep telling me to update my driver which i have done and it still won't work.

System Specs:

Operating System=Vista

Video Card=ATI Radeon HD 3450

Speakers=RealTek High Definition Audio

Processor=Intel Core 2 Duo CPU 3.0 Ghz

DirectX 10

All my drivers are up to date.

Have you patched the game to the latest version ?.. If not, download and install this patch first clickme then download and install this one clickme. Try the game again.

If you've already done that then plug a mic into the mic jack, sounds stupid i know, but it fixes it for some people.

another possible fix..

"mssmp3.asi" rename to "mssmp3.bak"

You can find that file in.. I think for vista it's..

Program data\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\miles
