Hello. So I needed to uninstall the game for some problems and then I re-installed it. Its already on patch 1.6..... And when I try to install patch 1.7 There comes a note: http://img196.imageshack.us/img196/8986/cod42f.jpg cod42f.jpg And As I should I push Yes. Then it starts uninstall program and so on until there comes second note: http://img97.imageshack.us/img97/2659/cod4c.jpg cod4c.jpg

Sorry that they are in finnish That first one is 'try again' and second is 'cancel' If i try again it goes to finish and says that all is unistalled and i can run the patch install but when i do that all comes again. The numbers in between { } are random. Please help. I have tried update drivers. I have tried different download adresses. I have tried unistalling again. I have tried put that in that directory and run it there. I have tried run it in main folder. I have tried install patch 1.6 again. Please help.

I'd clean your temp files folder out if I were you. By the look of that you're using XP, so click Start and type %temp% in the run box and press enter or click OK. You should be safe deleting the contents of that folder, but back it up to be on the safe side. Presuming your game is uninstalled at the moment (don't do any of the following if the game is still installed, uninstall before moving on) navigate to...

C:\Program Files

Delete the Activision folder. If you have other game folders within the Activision folder itself DON'T delete the folder, delete the games sub folder, example.. C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 2 Delete just the Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare folder

Delete the games registry entry, click Start > run and type regedit in the box, press enter or OK. Expand...

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and then Software, delete the Activision folder or just cod4's sub folder (see above why that is)

Click Start > All programs > Accessories > System tools > Scan disc Run that and delete all the crap files it finds (check boxes if not already checked after the scan has completed and delete)

Click Start > All programs > Accessories > System tools > Disc defragmenter Run that and let it complete, it may take an age, but let it do it.

Reboot your PC.

Before you reinstall, check in Add/Remove programs to see if CoD4 is still there, if so use this to delete the entry. Download Windows Installer CleanUp Utility 2.5.0.1 - Remove Windows Installer configuration information on failed installs - Softpedia

If not, reinstall and patch to 1.7, post back if you have further or the same problems.
