A Volkswagen sounds interesting, could you also add that motorbike to your map? you know the one with the mg42 behind it
You mean Kettenkrad?
HeinkelThe town it is still looking good :) but do you really want these trees standing scattered around like this is a woodland area? I think in Holland there would be wide open fields with tighly clustered groups of trees in between. And then there is the ditches - seems like you put some vegetation along them - but I would have gone for more. Ditches along the road would be cover nr.1 in open farmland, and that is where the allied soldiers move in BoB too. Your ditches are mainly too open for that.
you are correct i live in holland and you are correct wel wi got littel forrest but that no deal whit it and btw the city dosent got so many trees in reel i know that by couse i live thear lol i got photos of ww2 no trees killes by the germans for dead camps
I live in Holland as well, but there are plenty of trees here if ya ask me. I mean, it's not exactly a Bocage landscape, but it varies all over the country. You still have many forests, but also landscapes, which have very few vegetation. Also, 60 years ago I'll bet there was a lot more vegetation that nowadays. You probably live near a big city or something.. where the fresh air has been traded for smog. I'd say, do a Google search for "Holland", should provide plenty of information.
Ah - of course the landscape must have been different in 1944. I did not think very much about it. Also I guess the BoB scenes were shot in England, not Holland. I don't know of any actual Nuenen photos from around 1944, but an impression from 50 years before that springs to mind: Notice it actually looks more like Nechres map than the BoB scenes. And in terms of artistic quality - this impression can possibly match that of Spielberg/Hanks. Yes, it is a van Gogh. :0wned: (eating words, hat etcetera. )
I thought band of brothers was pretty accurate regarding the landscape. Nuenen was ofcourse a lot bigger than what they showed there, but you can't expect them to recreate an entire village. You're probably not going to get a very good picture by looking for Holland on google. Most of what google shows you is the north / north-western part of the country (where all tourists go). The part you are looking for (south-eastern / central-eastern) looks quite different. A bridge too far is all shot in Holland (I believe), so that would make a pretty good reference, as far as movies go.
Until I get the Volkswagen working, I'm going to placehold it with a blackmedal. I'm also post-poning the 2nd release until at least Tuesday.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
