I've modified the "officer_lieutenant" skin so the helmet insigna display a lieutenant's bar instead of a captain's bars. However, the officer character on the screen, still shows the captain's bars. What am I missing?
Well you probably either modified the wrong skin, the wrong part of the skin, or you forget to convert it from .DDS back to .RGT (and into it's original format)
The skin I modified for the office_lieutenant is located here: 'data\art\models\races\allies\soldiers\shared_textures\tex_al_officer.rgt'. I also did the glosseness, normal, occlusion, and specular files. Then I converted them all back to rgt from dds. The part I modified was the helmet insignia, which is quite visible on the skin. These files are pointed to from 'data\art\models\races\allies\soldiers\officer\officer.rgm' which is pointed to from 'ebps\races\allies\soldiers\officer_lieutenant.rgd entity_bluprint: animator'. There is a right click function in 'data\art\models\races\allies\soldiers\officer\officer.rgm' that reads 'set rgm textures', which I clicked on, but the lieutenant bars still don't show. Instead the capt. bars show. Have I missed something else?:bawl:

I get a no access this page message when trying to look at the '.doc' file on this page '**LD's Guide to CoH for Dummies** http://forums.relicnews.com/showthre...25#post2646525'
Hmm, so i take it you put the American officer into the game? Well i don't know about editing the specular, etc. as i'm sure that wasn't necessary, and in all my fiddling with infantry skins i've never clicked that "set rgm textures" thingy, so maybe that's where you went wrong? Sorry i can't really help though, i'm mostly just theorizing here. Th eGuide is mostly just for helping beginners install stuff into CoH like mods, etc. It doesn't cover modding. If you still want to get your hands on it for a read, i'll try to upload it on these forums at a later date.
Thanks for the future upload. I've figured out how to get the lieutenant to show up. When saving from the digital editor, the save format must be DX5 with mip maps turned on. I don't know why the rgt file shows it as a DX1 no-mips on Corsix.
