Hey guys, ive checked over several COH forums and cant find the answer, so let me please appologise if it is listed here and i missed it. essentially i have no problems loading custom maps in coH, but when i try and load the one i tried making myself it wont show up in the list. i used world builder, and i think i did it right (start points, and entry points) and i hit save. the file it gave me was an *.SGB file. when i checked my scenarios folder, it showed a buncha other files that have the same name as my map i was making. i moved my map to the MP folder (and also kept it in the scenarios folder too incase) but i cant find the map in the game at all. any thoughts? ive gone through a few tutorials (loosly ;) but im pretty confident the map is good to go. i appreciate your help -kennydude@gmail.com

Could you please post the path to your file for us please? Also, when you save the game you get 4 files(.sgb, .xml, .info and .scar), a bunch of .bak files(which you don't need and can delete) and 3 targa pics. If you export the map you need to put it in a different path then if you just save it. You can play your saved map file with out exporting it by having it in your "C:/Program Files/THQ/Company of Heroes/WW2/Scenarios/MP/" folder and add "-dev" to the end of your shortcuts target path. Now, if you choose to export your map you should only get 1 file, a .sgb file. To use this you have to put it in your "C:\Documents and Settings\(current user)\My Games\Company of Heroes\Scenarios\MP" folder I believe (I forget if you need a mp folder with this file) and you don't need the "-dev" in the shortcut. Hope some of this makes sense and that it helps. :cya:

hey thanks for the reply Flak, and also btw your maps are sweet, i totally played them and they are very cool re my map: ok, well the path im assuming is where i saved it too? i havemy map in the C:\Program Files\THQ\Company of Heroes\WW2\Data\scenarios\mp\kennytest folder. this is just the files i get when i hit "save" i loaded it the exact way you guys mention in all the tutorials, the whole -dev thing and the mp folder. ive definatly loaded custom maps before, that why im confused as to why this isnt loading (as everywhere i look, i seem to do everything right?) i also tried coping just the 4 extention specific files you mention as well, to that folder and it wont recognize either. allssoo, i tried the exact path you mentioned for the .sgb file too for some reason still, when i load skirmish (with the -dev) hook, it still wont show it ? im pretty excited to try this out, all your input is very cool. thanks, and let me know if i can give you more info ok?

hmmmm....Sounds like you know how to run custom maps. When trying to test your map and using the -dev shortcut, do other custom maps show up still? How many players is your map and does each player have a start point and map_entry point assigned to each player? Worst comes to worst, if you still can't get it going, send the map in a zipped folder to me at FlakNinjaForce@yahoo.com and I will look it over if you want me too.
