Hi! I was just wondering if someone could help me to edit the penetration and accuracy for tanks and soldiers to be more realistic (tiger kills sherman with one or two hits, infantry easier to kill out of cover etc).
I am using the Enhanced Warfare Mod and like these features: Tank Penetration System: Health bars on tanks are now useless, since a single fire may penetrate armour or not Combat Enhancement: Squads not in cover are really vulnerable, a single well managed squad can take out many other infantry squads, etc And i was wondering if i could isolate those features without using all the other features such as no base management etc.
Any help will be greatly appreciated
And if someone can post it on here, it would be awesome :D
Well Danish, we have some great modders here just give them a bit of time to reply.
Well, theres quite a few realism mods around, it's probably best to tick with a simple one since making you own is rather time consuming and a bit confusing to a beginner. I don't know how the above mentioned mod works, but all the penetration and accuracy data are in the DataAttrib\attrib\weapons\ folder (provided the mod didn't introduce any new armour types), so if you delete everything else in DataAttrib\attrib\ except the Weapons folder, that should keep the accuracy and penetration data.
Thanks Lethal. I will try and then tell you how it goes :D
'Fatal AI error: Execution Paused" I deleted everything except the Weapons folder
Oh well, i guess that means either try a "simpler" mod, or try by scratch. All the penetration, damage and accuracy values are in each weapons (something)_tables, which has tables for each and every armour type, so you'll just have to go into each and every weapon and manually edit each table to suit realistic stats for that weapon, but i warn you, it's a hell of a lot of work, and a hell of a lot or research and knowledge is needed, so it's best to go with another realism mod instead.
Any suggestions for a good realism mod? (I have Opposing Fronts)
Yes, One great suggestion... Don't steal others work. I find that helps a great deal... Anyways, its tuning_tables as lethal pointed out, its easy enough to do, and best way to do it is to use a macro for all small arms (MGs etc) to change the tp_infantry_heroic and tp_infantry penetration, accuracy and damage multipliers to be 1 (or 100% of the default value) The default value is set in the weapon_bag under accuracy, penetration, and damage. Its the easiest way to make shit loads of changes, using 1 macro, in <30 seconds, then going through and changing each weapon once to realistic values, rather then each weapon twice to realistic values...Halves the work you have to do
How did i steal someone else's work? I just wanted to modify a mod for personal use.
Anyway. Where can I find these tables? Do i need to use Corsix's mod studio? Can you give me a quick walkthrough on modifying one unit so I can mod the rest myself?
Thanks for all your help.
