I'm trying to install COMMANDO REALISM, BotB, and REALISM mods. I'm following the install instructions, but I still can't install the mods. It shouldn't be his difficult, so I must be missing something in the process.

I downloaded the files and I used WIN RaR to open them, but they won't install. When I click on the Wizard and try to extract into the COH folder, I get a scrolling error message saying it can't find or create certain folders. If I open the RaR file and click on the exe file, it says it can't run the application. If I try the "extract to" command to the COH folder, I get the scrolling error messages. If I extract the files to my desktop and then try to move or copy them to the COH folder, the mod application doesn't work. If I put the downloaded RaR file directly into the COH folder and try the "extract here" command, I get the scrolling error message.

What am I doing wrong?

That's strange. You usualy just have to right click on the RAR file and extract it to your CoH root folder. Try extracting it in my documents/my games/company of heroes. There is a possibility that the mods you downloaded are corrupted though.Try downloading them again.

This sucks.

I tried the Commando Realism V3 mod which has a self-installer, but when I click on the application, I get a "cannot allocate remote memory" message. I have tried about seven different COH mods, and even when it seems like they have extracted/installed correctly, I can't get them to work. The "Authenticate Warfare" mod makes no changes to the game even though I followed all the installation instructions. Another one said "can't run application" when I clicked on the exe file. I can't figure out why I can't get a mod to work and I can't get any help.

Hello,

I have the same issue, impossible to install any mod. For example, I downloaded Final WarBloody War mod. I extracted the file in the directory game, created a shortcut and renamed it as follow: "XXXX\RelicCOH.exe" -modname Final_WarBloody_War -dev, I also tried the following "xxxx\RelicCOH.exe" -dev -modname Final_WarBloody_War.

When I start the game, there is no difference with the original game. I am using original game disc at the latest version (V2.601).

I have also tried with other mods and same issue (do not see any difference) :bawl:

Please help me Thanks a lot regards

Strange, very strange. What about your system specs?Perhaps something's wrong with your PC.Does your PC met minimum CoH system requirements?

Yes, I've been playing COH gold for a while and I even installed and played the Normandy 44 mod a little (before it started crashing while playing the campaign). My computer plays COH just fine but I wanted to add some variety to the game so I was trying the mods. I can't get any of them to run so I'm thinking it's an issue with the path. I put the mods in my program files/THQ/company of heroes folder, and I tried installing to my documents/my games folder, but it doesn't work. It seems like lecoquelet has the same problem.

Hi,

I have the good configuration, (when I performed test, I got ultra). Maybe it is due because I have installed TOV. I have looked at the forum and maybe some mods can only be used with COH and/or OF. I have uninstalled the game. Now I am reinstalling it (COH and OF). I will keep you updated. Thanks greg

-joe6778: Yes,you put them in the right place but I really have no idea what's wrong,I never had such problems with CoH. If you get an error while running self-installer then somethings probably wrong with it,not your game.Like I said, mods can be corrupted when downloaded but you've downloaded many of them,it would be strange if all of them are corupted. Anyway,I'll "google" around and try to find a solution. ;)

-lecoquelet: This has nothing to do with ToV.Some of the mods will not work with ToV indeed but that does not explain those errors while installing mods.Anyway, try reinstalling the game.In case that helps you,it will probably help to joe.

I guess the AuthenticatedRealism mod doesn't work with my version of the game (v2.61) so that solves one mystery.

The Normandy44 mod worked for skirmish but crashed when I tried the campaign. Does that mod not work for the campaign?

Commando Realism self-installed but no changes are made to the game when I click on the shortcut.

I still don't understand why the mods are so difficult for me to install and/or launch.

Yeah probably.Mine is v2.500 and all of the mods seem to work so far.

It's posibble, mods can cause unexpected errors in campaign.

Commando Realism self-installed but no changes are made to the game when I click on the shortcut.

As far as I remember, same thing happened to me once.

I still don't understand why the mods are so difficult for me to install and/or launch.

Honestly,me neither. Here's a couple of things: 1.Like I said, some mods may be corrupted. 2.Make sure to read the instructions and type the corresponding command in the mod's shortcut (if the shortcut doesn't appear you must make one manually) and don't forget the -dev command. 3.While running a self-installer make sure to add the correct installation path.Somethimes you have to do it manually. (CoH is in my D disk and sometimes installation automatically points it in my C disk,be careful with that.) 4.Some mods are made only for a certain version of the game. Try uninstalling CoH,it may help you.I'll still be trying to find a possible solution your problem. ;) [QUOTE]
