I'm new to this forum, so please forgive me if I do anything wrong ^^'.
I recently installed OF, and have yet to really play it, but I put it through a test run and tried to load up a skirmish. I noticed that it uninstalled my vanilla CoH, and put OF on top of it.
Now here's the question: How do I get to play as the old armies in OF? Do I need to install CoH again separately? Alos, I was saddened to see Lyon being taken off the map list :( (I'm the type of guy who likes to just sit back and watch things blow up through a bottleneck :p)
Many thanks for your help!
I dont have it so i dont know where to go but at start up first time it should've asked if you have the VCoH key.
Go check your registry to see if you CoH CD Key is still there. Another method is if you can't play the oroginal factions, the original campaign will be greyed out, and clicking it it should ask for a original CoH CD Key. Just add it it. But when i installed OF over the top of CoH, the oroginal factions were already unlocked. For online play, go into your account multiplayer, and click add product to add your OF cd key, and if you don't have an account, create one and add both cd keys. I don't know how accurate i am with this last bit of advice as i don't/can't play online, and so i'm just repeating what i've heard.
click add product at the online/game log in screen and type in your original CoH cd key, make sure it's the right key though, you can get banned for a wrong one. triple check it after you type it out.
The old factions get destroyed by the new ones anyway because they are to weak. Try and click on the Invasion on Normandy campagain again.
Many thanks guys!
I clicked the old campaign to enable adding the old armies, and it does prompt for CD key there! Now, I have to find my CoH CD... Bloody verifying disc check *grumble*
Again, many thanks ^^
you shouldn't have to re-install CoH. I stuffed OF into my comp a week ago or so, and I can play with all armies; US, British, German and the new Panzer division. It only re-writes the files when you think of it, stuffing in more contents to the game. Nothing else should change.

It seems everyone has a different upgrade experience from COH to OF. Some have no problems, some loose the original factions and have a hell of a time with relic online. Relic sereously dropped the ball and over reacted to piraters and only made it a pain for legit gamers with the CD's.
hmm, getting OF installed and running has gone smoothly for me everytime i did it, but i would always uninstall everything, delete any remaining files, then re-install vCoH, patch to v1.7, then install OF over the top and patch it up. Most people say all thats unnecessary, but it works perfectly, the 4 armies and the 3 campaigns are all unlocked, and i seem to have all them maps from the original CoH and the maps included in the old CoH patches, like Langres, Lyon, etc.
