Well I didn't think it would raise as much of a fuss as it has either. It was just an observation about a something a bit odd in the game, something that was either a joke by the developers or a mental lapse on their part, I'm not sure which. I didn't think it was grounds for the battle of monumental proportions that it became but apparently everybody else did. The rational members of this forum will recognize the validity of my initial statement. Others will continue to rail on ad nauseum about something they apparently know nothing about. All I can say to those people is that the Internet research will bear out the voracity of my statements.

Malistair;3244065Also, thank you for referring to the generation that is trying to repair all the mistakes your generation made as the "slacker" generation. Another thing, perhaps this generation despises and is annoyed with you because of how you bashed the world into peices and ignored your children to pursue your own whims. Then claim some sort of superiority because of when you lived....and you think WE want entitlements?

Well, since we're talking about generations, and assuming you're from what's known as either the "X" or "Y" generation, I can safely say that I didn't ignore MY 3 children. They're all fairly well-adjusted, happily married, productive members of society living near their mother and father with the requisite 2 children each. In addition, two of my daughters own their own businesses and the third is a mechanical engineer for Boeing. So much for my children. As for me being a so-called slacker, I doubt that label fits me in an way whatsoever. While you were still shitting your pants, I was in uniform serving in fun places like Viet Nam, South Korea, Okinawa, West Germany. In fact, in my 20 years of service, I spent 9 years overseas in defense of the United States and its allies. And after I retired from the Army I went on with my slacking ways to work at Microsoft to help bring into the world such slacking products as Basic Compiler 6.0, 7.0, Visual Basic 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, and 4.0, Visual Basic for Applications (found in all Microsoft Office products, Access, Excel, Word, Project, Outlook, etc), JScript, VBScript, Internet Explorer 5 and 6. So don't you ever, ever call ME a slacker you insignificant twit.

A butterbar! Are you aware that besides President Bush, you are among the most dangerous things in the world? If somebody gives you a clipboard, you will become THE most dangerous thing in the world  That's Warrant Officer humor, but I digress. I wish you nothing but good luck young lieutenant. I hope you have a long and happy life. And I hope your Commander in Chief pulls his head out of his ass before you have to deploy to Iraq. And if you have to go to Iraq, I hope the good Lord protects you.

[QUOTE=Fredf;3237114]I take a dim view of a Dutchman telling me what American words were in common usage in 1944. Yes, the words "suck" and "sucks" were quite common and used in speech in everyday conversation. What they were not, was used in American slang. And since American has never been the strong suit of any foreign national, can i stop you there, this is probably allready said and all and an old convesation bla bla bla. but this was in 1944, the word sucks was used by any english speaking country, the germans had been all over europe by then fighting the US, canada and the brits for over 4 years. so they've probably picked it up somewhere.(thats alot of thought over something they say in a game, haha) anyway i cant understand how something as small as one line in a whole game can create such a fight. i mean jeez, who cares whether they did or didnt say it, who cares if relic made a mistake by putting it in, i dont give a fuck about whats said in a game like this, if it gives me a WW2 feeling and it plays well im cool with it. now , this post will probably atract alot of bitching but i dont care.

So in conclusion.... ( I don't know if the rules here require seven words per message so as it won't be called spam and I have to stay on topic so here goes)

The replies goes off topic then one after the other, people flames, insults and goes bats**** insane.

Why can't there be peace? Why?

(Also Im surprised that the people that blatantly cussed at other members are still here...)
