Hey, I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this, so I'm sorry if its in the wrong section. Anyway, I installed the 1.4 patch and I go play a LAN game with my buddy. Were both American against some Axis A.I. He chooses the Airborne company. Once he is able to use the Bomber ability, he starts complaining that his bomber never dropped any bombs.....well I just thought he was complaining because he was getting his arse handed to him. But later on I played a single player skirmish and chose the Airborne. Turns out, he was right....but the Bomber doesnt even show up. I can see the large square on the mini-map; the square sybolizing the plane....but I follow it and the bomber is nowhere in sight....I cant even hear it. So of course there wont be any bombs with no plane to drop them. So every time I use it, I waste 250 ammunition. Throughout that whole game, it only worked once...out of say....8 tries. Now am I doing something wrong, or is this a bug? And if so, is there any way to fix it? Thanks for the help.
Hmm i dont have 1.4 patch and everything is ok... bombers are always there and bombing :)
Maybe a problem with patch?!
Yea, same thing happened with me a few times, and i have the 1.4 patch. It seems to not drop bombs if it has to go over a lot of enemy territory/units to get to where you want it. Maybe is simulating being driven away from its mission by anti-air/enemy fighters?
I dunno, I'm usually a tank commander myself :D
Yeah, I'm guessing that some German Flak 88 keeps shooting it down or something....thats the only real explanation I can come up with. But thanks for the replys.
I've sometimes had this problem too... It seems that if you call more than 1 plane onto the field at once (say a strafing run and an bombing run) neither one fires. I'm not completely sure of this, but it seems to have happened before.
About the single plane not dropping its bombs, it probably is being shot down. If it isn't, then it's just screwey and the bombing run is useless and expensive anyway.
i have found the reason! Its the red smoke if it is not there they cant bomb a place without are area to bomb so if there is no smoke too bad
I've encountered this lil' bug a few times. Its probably because (possably) he's bombing an area with major amounts of enemies. What i've always thought was that the pilots wouldn't drop the bombs at the risk of slightly slowing down under heavy fire, that or bullets wizzing through the air and them scared.
I've had this problem once or twice, and all those times, it was either on a map with very high hills, or I tried bombing a section that was on the edge of the map. Those are the only times I get happening what you're saying.
