For whatever reason sometimes when I quit COH my computer will freeze after finishing a game. When I click on exit the game it will happen unless I wait 15 seconds or so. Seems like something has to finish unloading. I have Vista home with 4 gb of memory and e6600 with the 8800gts card.
Never had the problem but I played around with the memory settings one time and I started really having problems so I changed them, think I have them pretty much at default now.
No problems in the game just when I exit it.
Thanks for any help.

Vista should not be a problem... But I would recommed you run a system check with a online program named one care... It's found in windows live (msn) if you go to your msn email you'll see it in one of the top bars. It takes ALOT of time to run (maybe half a day), but you'll get some great results, might help you with your problem.
Its not Vista, other than the problems that Vista had when I first installed it the patches seemed to have fixed the problems that came with it.
As for One Care I might give it a shot but I have many programs that check everything and everything seems fine.
The memory has passed every test I've done but it all started with configuring the memory the one time and must not have gotten something correct when I tried to go back to default.
Thanks for your tips

When I had Company Of Heroes it would take around 10 seconds to completely close down. That was due to all the processes running in the background. You should keep them at a minimum. Some programs however, don't appear on the desktop but are running and a lot of them aren't needed at all. If you're running Vista I don't know what it's like and how you check it. I'm just going to go with it and see if it is the same with XP.
1. Open Task Manager (Ctrl + alt + Del) 2. If its the same as XP, you should see at the bottom right corner 'Commit Charge: 3. If the commit charge is around 200-300 You're fine. 4. If it's higher go the processes section and see what's running that you don't need and close them. 5. I must warn you, if you have closed the wrong things whatever you have closed will not work correctly till a restart.
This should improve gaming performance and loading, saving, closing times.
Hope this has helped.
Thanks to all that tried to help. Found the problem, Zone Alarm has a service called Access Scanning which was scanning all my files for Virus's and such when opening or closing them and was just killing Windows Explorer and shutting down any game . Shut that feature off and everything is normal. I know it's for more protection but how much is too much. Next they will suggest everyone hire a cop to stand at the front door of your home. Sign of the times I guess.
