try not playing with the -dev. It always used to cause issues, and i don't know if it still does but i've heard that with OF the -dev was no longer required to play .sgb maps, even online. So give it a try without, can't hurt right?

well i dont have OF, just regular, and we dont have the option of selecting the custom maps without using the -dev. so im at a big loss as what to do, either be forced to by OF (which i planned on) or not use custom maps at all (ultra lame)

Well if its just CoH your running, then -dev is indeed necessary for playing custom .sgb maps, however what version are you running? AFAIK you need a Relic Online account to play on the online servers (except perhaps Hamatchi), and RO forces you to download all the patches to get your game up to date. AFAIK so long as all players and the server are running the game with the -dev setting, it should work. But then .sga maps (which only stopped working with v2.102 or v2.103) don't require the -dev and should work fine, and many mappers prefer to release their maps in the one .sga package, like $ Texas $ for example.

thats the thing, we are all running same version 2.103, my friend who was running the server over multiplayer online tried it without the -dev to see if he could still use the maps. he couldnt. my game ran into this problem in an earlier patch, and we couldnt fix it for some reason. i have a relic online acct, we all do. theres 4 of us, were all running fully updated clients, all the same maps, all files are the same. my firewall was down, my ports were open, yet when i went online to join his server, it was grayed out and for the life of me i cant figure it out

I don't have a lot of knowledge about trouble shooting outside the map editor, but I think a possible cause to your problems is the fact that you have the patch 2.103, this patch will make your CoH act like it is running OF, (so you can play with those who have OF), with the patch comes all the OF problems such as the custom maps not working. I hear some people claiming that .sgb maps (all older maps; usually with multiple files) will run online/LAN with OF or the patches above version 2.0... I haven't been able to test this. I know relic is aware of the issue and I think the next patch should fix some problems, although I think .sga maps will no longer be able to be used online. you can extract the .sgb files from a .sga with the DoW sga extractor: http://dawnofwar.filefront.com/file/Dawn_of_War_SGA_Archives_Unpacker;70187

might just have to wait for the next patch in a few weeks (early december is what I hear)

its not a matter of the maps, its the fact that when i launch dev, it wont let me connect to other ppl running dev servers regardless of the maps being used...basically, i used to be able to run custom maps just fine, now i cant. using regular launch i can enter regular servers people are running, however when i run the dev .exe, i cant join the server
