Forgive my ignorance here please. I am hesitant to downlaod any mods (e.g. Merciless Blood Mod) for fear that I might not like it and want to revert back to the games default. Do mods like this allow for turnig them "on" and "off", or do these files have to be deleted? Do mods delete or otherwise modify any virgin COD files that are on my HDD now? Silly questions, I am sure - but I don't want to do something irreversible. TIA.

don't worry man, just get the mod, if it's crap, just delete it or move it to another folder out of the main folder, named 'Unused Mods'. Nothing you do (in terms of extracting extra .pk3s to the main folder) will be irreversible.

Not a silly question actualy.

COD is a little tricky I have found. First off COD 1.02 seems to be sensitive to how many pack files(or mods) that reside within its main folder. However some say they dont have problems with this, some do... Im one that does. May be bad combinations of files ,or to many maps,or I dont know. But I found the more maps or mods i threw in my main folder the sooner i ran into pack sum errors. (Anyone else had this problem and found any other way around it LMK) So be careful how many things you put in your main folder. I recomend using your main folder for maps alone!!! creat seperate folders within call of duty folder for all your mods and start the game with the "+set fs_game yourmod" Even then you may find your single player game wont load as a result of pack sum errors. I finnaly had to take all my maps, throw them into one big pack file, and only then could i load up single player. But any time i want a new map im gunna have to re pack it all.:uhoh: Or live without single player. Man i hope they fix that. Oh and for god sakes read those readme's people. There there to help you.
