You are right, alot can be learned from AAO, i mean in AAO its nearly impossible to kill someone from far away when ur standing on full auto and not aiming down the sights, not to speak about when moving, ahhh the good times of AAO, well its only problam was the fact that it could not be modded/mapped and therefor got boring fast enough and the crappy buggy engine and laggy servers, but thats technical.
I want to play this, when will it come out?
I'm not sure if anyone has noticed, but its been about 6 months since this suposed CES was written about in these forums. Other than this forum speach, no one has heard about this mod and no news has come thru about this supermod. Also, this mod was proposed 2 months before the game was able to be purchased, so I think it is safe to say that this mod will never happen and was only positive thinking in the mind of MPowell1944. Sorry to burst your bubble all you hopefuls, but its just never going to happen.
man, the mod could've been blast
Well the NSFU Modern Mod is hoping to incorporate some of the ideas discussed so you will still get some of the things you've seen here ;) Is gonna take some time to get the new character models made though so you'll have to be patient :P We'll release a simple demo with the minimum required new items to make it playable (1 NATO soldier, 1 OPFOR Soldier, M16 for Nato, AK47 for OPFOR, 1 Map).
where do you get it and when is the expected time of completion:bows:
I didn't make it!
Listen up panzis,
u all may b sayin that this guy cant make a mod like this, but he can. i know powell frum experience and this guy is kick ass. this mod is gonna b friggn sweet when (not if) it comes out. Just sum ideas: spawning should act like real reinforcments (i.e. parachutes, landing craft, jeep, truck, w/e): when shot in the leg, you instantly fall to prone and walk slower: If you've been hit and cant move, you should be able to use your pistol and grenades while sitting on the ground: a grenade blast should definitly not blind u, that would suck, but should deafen you either temporarily or permantly dependant on the distance: gun jams should happen periodacally and should require some time to become unclogged: classes are stoopid, what ww2 platoon actually has 8 bazookas, 6 snipers, and one guy with a garand? players should be sorted into an already plannd out shell of a platoon, no balances, no switching: teams (allies and axis) should be divided into platoons and if possible, fire squads. like ghost recon, each team should have a platoon leader who makes the commands: hitboxes are awesome and i wish you all the best with the internal organ thing: vehicles are gay, and even though i luv 1942, what kind of medic knows how to drive a tank, and what kind of platoon has a tank commander? CoD was built (in my opinion) for urban warfare, thats the best kind of stuff there is: powell, if you're there, please reply, this thread needs you at least once more. peece out and good luck this mod is gonna kick sum serious ass! :bows:
Hey, Crash, great ideas, I hope Powell takes your suggestions in notice. I wish Powell the best of luck with this project, I'm definitely into all the tactical stuff, and the thinking involved with warfare. See you in The War Called Life
seeing as this is my first post, and im jus sitting in my Digital Imaging class at school board out of my mind searching for COD stuff, i came upon thsi site. anyways ive been reading about the mod and it seems like it would be pretty cool. however, if u use the cod engine to create this mod, it would not be reaching its full potential. i believe Valve has released tools for creating mods, if they havent then they will once hl-2 comes out. anyways, using the hl2 engine would definately make this mod worth while, and even more realistic. since i imagine that the dod team will upgrade to the hl2 engine when it comes out. thered be some stiff competition for a good wwii shooter mod.
