Is it me or are the player wep sounds too quiet? I don't know if it's meant to give an extra sense of atmosphere or to convey the sheer volume of war but to me it doesn't sound right!

The npc sounds are all fine - but are louder at a distance than the gun you are actually holding in your hands! Not good. This is especially obvious in a heavy firefight - sometimes even the enemy's guns are louder than your own!?!?

I've fiddled about with the sounds & tried/modded a few user packs, but none make any difference. I've re-recorded every sound & increased the volume - no effect. I've adjusted the /soundailiases/ iw_sound.csv file - (thinking I'd sussed it ;) ) again, no effect!

What am I missing?!?!? Or are we stuck with this state of affairs? Cheers for any ideas.

:(

Yeah, I agree...the sounds are way too quiet...Don't know what to do about it either...

I'm looking for a sound mod for the full version, too..maybe that'll help

It's not only the sound of your own gun. In my opinion there is to little difference between the sounds of events nearby and the events on a distance.

Even when something is happening ( your teammate is dualing in a close range smg fight for instance) next to you, sometimes you completely miss it.
