I have windows ME and just downloaded the CoD Tools for it. I unzipped it and there are many files and I have no idea what to do first...could someone please explain how to get started? Thanks very much..... :bows:
Step one, uninstall Windows ME and install Windows XP Step two, install the mapping tools. Step three, start mapping. Seriously you will be better off as the tools that you have just downloaded are for Windows 2000/XP and do not work 100% in 9X/Me From what I understand you have to unzip them into the CoD directory then run the radiant tool. Good luck trying to load / save maps tho as that's the part that's bust in 9X/Me :) Or it was the last time I looked.....
Well that doesnt help, dont got XP and wont for a while. It says it works for ME. Now what I dont understand is how to install it! I clicked most of the winzip files and they did not do anything. Im not sure whatto do first. I have never used Radiant before either.
As I said those tools were not designed for Me, so it won't work.... There should be a readme file in the .zip file explaining how to unpack it. All I did was to download the codtool.exe file from callofduty.org and install it, but then again I'm running WinXP. It's even been mentioned by the devs somewhere that the tools will never run on windows prior to windows 2000
The readme fill just says to use the installer which I can not find....Also do you need to install Radiant beforehand?
No you will need windows 2K/XP to use the installer as it's a win 2K/XP only software. As I do not own windows Me or 98 anymore, thanks to win xp beeing 2000% more stable for me, I can not say what to do, but I think all you need to do is extract the .zip file to the cod directory and then run the codradiant.exe file in the tools/bin dir.
Which .zip file do I extract, and is the cod directory called cod/main?
I do not know it depends on the file you downloaded. I know there is a long thread on the IWNation forums about problems with 9x/Me and codradiant, I'd check there for more help
Can i get a link?
