I have noticed that some people can establish great lines of defense witch are near impenetreble. I say near because they don't count one 1 thing: me and other kamikaze idiots. Basicly we just drive a sherman through your wall of sandbags and splat your dear AT. since I know my own strategy I and another kamikaze friend (donny/burgett/hoebett, whatever his nickname now is) have designed the line to counter these attacks. first step is to identify your line in the beginning of the battle, send an engineer here to cap the nearby flag and wipe out the enemy. second: you start buiding an mg unit and use your engineers to construct some sandbags. third: if all things go well you have a mg on the sandbags before the enemy hits. Then construct tank traps right next to the sandbags. this step is important because itherwise the enemy is able to take cover behind it. Also the AT will sometimes hit it if its to far away, i have never seen it hit a tank trap if its just close enough. BAM no more tank crushing through your lines, great isn't it? This is the basic of the line, i will now discuss optional things but feel free to vary. usually my line consists out of these units and structures: line of tank traps, line of sandbags, 2 mgs (both covering different areas,) a sniper to kill the suppressed units, 1 mortar, forward HQ or halftrack (for reinforcement) and 2 AT guns. No tanks but it holds wonderfully. Feel free to replie, positive critism is appreciated. PS: i'll post some screenshots later but the game hasn't saved them :(

All of this can be annihilated by long range artillery. Just thought I'd point that out, but unless your enemy cannot or does not use artillery, it's not entirely foolproof.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing as fadaway. As I always post on these forums, the key to winning is artillery. Pound the hell out of the enemy then infantry strolls in. Almost seems like it would work in real life. Oh wait, thats exactly what we do.

indeed some arty will blow the hell out of this line, but the point is it will on any line. Best thing to do is construct some 2nd line of defense or just attack.

Of course, arty that line, and any tertiary lines as well. Dont forget to arty main base factory buildings too. I think everyone should have the opportunity to call in artillery on a target. Seeing, hearing, and feeling 155mm rounds come down makes your balls swell with manliness.

I hate artillery in this game, so cheap and cowardly, and theres -no way- to counter it! However, artillery in real life is a thing of beauty! And much more fair, since real world battlefields usually aren't restricted to a 1km square of heavily populated terrain (usually)... Peace...

Okay just went in 2vs2 against 2 arty noobs (haha, they'll like this sentence if they read this :D) anyways, the line more or less holded out. they put up 3 or more flaks but they kept shooting at the tank traps. The arty they trew on my killed all the men i had standing but because of the tank traps they couldnt advance there tanks. Basicly the line works (fear the ego trip ^^)

Why do people feal they have to divide the map into 2 ? "he has half , i have half"... if your going to make a damn defensive line then put it so you control 3 quarters of the map and he only had the 1 ! then u wont even have to worry about tank traps ! I cant stand these players who just make a defensive line and the build arty , they are easily beaten and it just bores me. I use mobility as more key to victory , i capture every point i can , i make the enemy so weak by cutting off their resources. Imo forming a line of defense is like saying "i am scared of you , i will allow u to form an effective combat force and hope i can keep you away from my half of the map" ... U should be thinking "They should be scared of me , i will attack their "side" of the map early , not allow them to settle , capture every point i can after winning skirmishes , making them weaker and me stronger"
