Hey just dropped in to hear what tactics you use in the Carentan SP demo level.....

What I do first to prepare: First I pause the game, then I send 1 airborne division and 1 engineer team to EACH bridge and let them stay there. Then I send the jeep to the most right bridge.

Then I let the engineers leave the church and the townhall. Those from the townhall go to the only bridge without an engineer team, and the engineer team from the Church will head to pick up the Panzerschreck and hide in the nearby building.

Then I create 2 more airborne squads + one AT crew.

The first airborne squad will go to the bridge that hasn't got Airborne yet, and the second will man the AT's. Then with the 3rd AT coming, I will send 1 AT at each bridge.

(About 13-14 minutes left from here.)

Then I order the engineers to make barb wire on the other side of the bridge (pretty useless to make it since the AT will probably blow it but it looks cool.) And then I order the engineers to make mines while the airborne in the meanwhile will make sandbags for themselves and the AT crews (And the Jeep on the right bridge.).

Also in the mean time I make 3 snipers and 3 mg teams, to send 1 from each to each bridge.

When the engineers mined all bridges (About 5-10 minutes left from here.) I will let them make 2 machine gun nest's at each while I upgrade all my airborne with bazooka's.

In the mean time everyone else should come in place.

Then I barb wire all the ends from the bridges (Also useless because of AT, but idea is good.) and then I start placing mines between the bridges end and the sand bags from my units.

(About 1-2 minutes left from here.)

Now everything should be ready, I order all 3 other engineer teams to go to the house were the first engineer team with the panzerschreck hides, so I got the house full with 12 men and also covering that sector.

Now this is what I got:

At each bridge: -Barb wire on both sides of bridge -Mines on the bridge and on the roads behind -2 MG nests on each bridge -1 AT gun on each bridge -1 Airborne team WITH bazooka's on each bridge -1 Sniper in each house near a bridge -1 MG team together with the sniper in a house near the bridge -And a Jeep on the right bridge only -And on top of that and also as last, four engineer teams in one building near the church, 1 armed with a Panzerschreck Ok, now when the war begins: First (of course) I wait. The StuG arrives first, so the AT gun probably fires at it (while destroying half off all barb wire I just made...) then it will try to cross the bridge and get stuck in the minefield on the bridge, and then AT or Airborne takes them down, saving some of the mines near it.

Then when infantry strikes AT, MG's and sniper's will kill them from long range. If they accidently manage to get close or they will die by the mines or they get killed anyway.

Anyway this repeats till they do their big artillery, which is around the time that you have lik 8-10 minutes left.

Then I retreat every unit except the Jeep.

I will place the AT's around the church, and the airborne will go to houses north of the church. 2 Snipers and 2 MG's will go in the church, while the remaining sniper and MG squad will also go in one of the houses.

Nothing more to retreat. In the mean time of course I already have arty and if they try to attack the HQ I just arty them.

When their immense artillery comes and destroys townhall there will come no loses for my side. In the mean time I create 3 more AT to defend the church.

Then they try to attack me and it's simple hold the line warfare. Sometimes I mined the places they come through so they are already weak, and sometimes the building my engineers are in will get destroyed so I lost 4 engineer teams. Anyway if that happens I always replace them with AT crews.

Now, apart the engineers and the Jeep in the begin I have no other death (normally) so I keep waiting and arty them here and there.

Then reinforcements arrive and I send all the new rifleman and the 3 tanks to elliminate all germans. I do not immediatly destroy remaining tanks, I just go to townhall and kill their infantry and then I mostly get the medal at that part. And then they might have 2 tanks left so when they come it's just a pity since they just die :).

And then I won.

What I normally do is Pause the game, Send the 2 engineer teams outside + the 1 inside the TH (Town Hall) to the Left + right bridges The remaining team takes the discarded panzershreck and move to the centre bridge. The church engineers start to fortify the approaches to the church and I equip them with a panzershreck. I send an infantry squad to collect the German mg42 lying in the cul de sac and position it to cover the centre or left bridge. The remaining 3 men go across the left bridge to capture the left munitionspoint. The other infantry squad is ordered to the same munitions point and construct barbed wire defences. I dont stray too far out because of the snipers. Unpause. All my units go about their assaigned tasks. Whiel I wait I send the jeep to the right allied munitions point to defend against capture. I build 3 AT guns at the moment. By now the Engineers are at their targets and I construct mines and barbed wire (But am careful to not block entry incase one of my stupid enginners gets stuck, trust me it happens). I place MG nests facing along each bridge along with an extra nest to defend the left munitions point. The AT guns are deployed at an angle to attack the flanks of enemy armour. The engineers build cover for the Guns. The 6 man airbourne sqad then takes the MG next to the left munitions point and takes up position in a building leaving me with 2 3 man airbourne squads which lay barbed wire, mines and sandbags along my lines. I splace snipers along the perimiter and construct lines of obstacles around the town hall/ streets. A few mg nests also help. I garrison everyone up wit habout 10 seconds left and review my defences. Go time, the 1st wave of German infantry attacks on the left flank and is slaughtered by the forward mg nest. If they flank they are gunned down by the snipers and bridge mg. If any get near the MP I arty their kraut asses. Whilew this is going on I try and keep the church engineers busy building defences. If I built one, the mortar squad in the cul de sac will shell the centre bridge and pin the infantry for my snipers. "Town hall in range, commence artillery strike!" The artillery will hit where I placed my Mg nests to defend the bridges. If I have time I pull my guns back a few feet to my 2nd line of defences. When the guy yells for the town hall to be evacuated I fall all my men back to the church. The 2 3 man squads use the abandoned AT guns while I produce AT guns and MG teams... Enemy attacks and is slaughtered by my MG nests. The tanks smash through my barricades only to die at the hands of my AT gun crew. The Reinforcements appear and the Germans retreat. I group my four Sherman tanks and send them to the bridges to destroy the enemy armour. Job done. Bronze star and limited allied casualties. Hehe sorry for any errors/typos.... In a hurry

lol Tharulerme ^^ thats a pretty good tactic...and you did basicly beat THAT mission, since in full version (the part after you win the part in the demo) the second part only lasts 30 seconds long
