CoH is out, and in eight days the European's can get it.

To all who have it, please post what you think from the game so far, to give other players an idea from your opinion.

(TO THOSE WHO LIKE TO TALK, IF YOU ALREADY BEATED THE GAME THEN DON'T START TELLING THE WHOLE STORY HERE, PEOPLE HERE STILL WANT TO PLAY :)!!!) (Just if you think that it's good!)

Perhaps he was refering to the fact that tharulerme posted his thread two days after the release, indicating perhaps he thought it was released yesterday.

Try not to flame people just for a misunderstanding. It's rude and doesn't particularly make you look smart or friendly.

Yeah, because, you know, my 30-40$ is going to make a huge difference. Anyway... The game rocks, my only complaint is that the AI is too tank-happy. This would be fine if they supported their tanks with infantry, but they just tank-whore ftw. The reinforcement feature has changed since DoW - you now have to move the unit near the Headquarters or Field Barracks to reinforce them. Im VERY pleased with this feature, as I thought Dawn Of War's system was very unrealistic. Another complaint is that a Panther has to fire ~7 rounds to the rear of a Sherman to kill it. I find this highly unrealistic, and I think its a bug. Im playing an unpatched version, by the way. Snipers are fearsome, killing a unit with one shot. They are VERY fragile, but that is good, as a single man can only dodge so much machinegun fire until they die. Machineguns work wonderfully, laying down streams of pain to any infantry getting in their way. The cover system should be mentioned as well. There are three types of cover - Light, Heavy, and Open. Light cover protects your units reasonably well, and would consist of such things as impact craters, bushlines, and barrels. Heavy cover makes a unit almost invincible to small arms fire, and consists of such things as Sandbags, walls, and tank blockades. Open cover consists of things such as roads, open fields, and shallow rivers. This is deadly to infantry, and should be avoided if possible. The defensive fortifications are interesting (I just finished a game with MASSIVE lines of barbed wire and tank blocks set up. Very effective together.), as you must build them carefully, or your own men will be blocked in. Tank blocks keep tanks from rolling past, barbed wire does the same for infantry, sandbags give Heavy Cover to anyone behind them, mines... blow up... and machinegun nests shoot anything within its frontal arc. The balance between axis and allies is decent enough, at least in the unpatched version. Its a shame there isnt a German campaign to speak of, as id like to annhilate some yanks from time to time. Skirmish AI is powerful, and WILL hurt you if you arent totally aware of their tank movements. Speaking of German campaigns... It pissed me off to see the "Allies" not called "Americans", as you do not have access to "Allied" equipment. British tanks, artillery, and infantry are an example of whats lacking. Hell, give me a Matilda! The same can be said for the "Axis". These are Germans, people. Not "Axis". Adding Italian or Japanese to the game later would eliminate this nonsense of "Axis" forces. Speaking of an expansion, it occurs to me that the most effective way to expand the game would be to follow Command and Conquer: Generals Zero Hour style of team choices. Have "Allied" or "Axis" as the team, and then play either as a Japanese General, German General, Italian General, British General, etc. ...Or just go by the map. IE, Normandy would obviously be German/American (Canadian, etc.). All in all, the graphics are outstanding, and the physics really hit the spot. I almost wet myself at the sight of people rolling down hills, being blown into the sky, and other such visual treats. The "Medic" system is unusual. When a soldier in a unit "dies", it will either be dead, or squirming around in pain. A "medic" from the Axis "Bunker - Medic upgrade" will go to these incapacitated men, pick them up, and carry them back. I BELIEVE this gives you a small bit of Manpower back. Not quite sure. On Manpower - Manpower, Munitions, and Fuel. These are your resources. Wow. Remember strategic points in DoW? Now there will be Manpower points (The most common), Munitions Points, or Fuel points. Capturing one will give you that resource, and putting an "OP" (Observation Point) on it will increase the income of that resource, as well as provide basic protection from enemy capture. Infantry cant destroy OPs (Or anything else) with small arms, it seems, and that was a huge plus to the same. I got so sick of all other RTS games having these "uber infantry" people who could blow up buildings with a machinegun. I could go on and on about Engineers (builders) with automatic weapons, flamethrowers, demo charges, or Stormtroopers with StG 44s, but I wont. Download/buy the game for yourself, and scope it. Its a solid game. Thanks to Relic for making this game, and whoever ISO-ed it. I hope my info is useful to someone. Later.
