I know alot of us use the sniper with his camoflauge skills as a forward observer but I would like to see at least one character that had much greater visual skills than the rest. Often I've played as the axis on maps where the bridges were blown and the pinchpoints were blocked. When that is the case, you're at the mercy of the allies with their recon flights and off map artillery. At the very least, couldn't we see a recon flight for the axis? I have heard that they had aircraft also........

It was called the Luftwaffe, and it was decimated by the allies. The axis blitzkrieg could be way more powerful IMO.

Eh, what do you expect the blitykreig to be. You can't have it too powerful, keep in mind this is in the end of the war, when Germany was pretty well pwnt.

I always play as the Germans, and I never lose against AI allied opponents (and some human opponents). Sure air raids are annoying as all get out; but if you've played your cards right, you can shoot down a good number of the planes that show up with 88's, Pumas/Armored Cars, and Ostwinds/Whirbelwind

As for using the sniper as a forward observer, I generally find them beforehand; especially on maps like "Vire River Valley" with the bridges blown (with 2 bridges blown up, I wonder where he'll show up...). If they do slip past me, I'll figure out that I'm being observed when the red smokes pop (or if the on-map 105mm barrage is strangely concentrated).

The axis don't need recon anyway. Their tanks are infinitely better; especially when ranked. Sherms can't cut it against p4's and god help them if they allow me to get a few Panthers. Tigers and King Tigers are almost overkill.
