alright zeke here im a newb in CoH just bought it yesterday but i cant get past the 4th mission. the part where you just get vehicles and your buddies are under attack in a court yard. any tips plus if you can throw in some general tips or stratagies for the allied side id very much appreciate it. thanks in advance guys. c'mon now, help a brutha out
im sorry but i don't really know what your talking about but i went through the entire campaign using just mass infantry or 2 infantries and max out pop with tanks which is another good way but ill get on the game and look at it to give you better tips.
the level after the one where you defend the church/ city square. where you have to defend it for like 20 mins. and god did i hate that level

get more AT weapons, man packed AT is very effective in that scenario. also placing your AT tanks at key chock points is very effective at stopping the enemy.
Okay, so the mission before i suggest building up your forces a bit at the end so you have them for next, but if you don't it will still work, first thing you do it make your infantry do is run too all of the bridges and lay mines all the way down, best to have 4 or 5 set of them. and while they are doing that set up 2 mg nests at the top 2 bridges and 1 at the left. leave space between the 2 at each bridge up top to sand bag them together at the front so you can set up aa's between them looking at the bridges best to have 1 at each bridge and maybe a few extra just in case the line brakes and they get through. and maybe a sniper at the 2 top bridges 2 but just to mop up infantry because mg's suck... they scare the shit out of the enemy but don't kill much usually... ;) ok so to recap, you need 2 mg guns, 1 or 2 aa's, mines up the bridge and maybe at the base of it and possibly snipers and mg squad or 2(not really needed but can help)
ok now for the left bridge,use the mg i told you about at the right looking towards the bridge(next to the building to the right of the bridge) and then set up sand bags to the left of the mg so you can put a aa there, then set up sandbags parallel to the water to the left of the base of the bridge.
(like this ___| | [| | -being the bridge and ___ - being the sand bags])
which is where you will set up a mg squad and another in the building to the right of the bridge in the building. once these defenses are completed, hot key everything on the field that moves so you can retreat it all easily later, if you do not know you will get slammed by shells...
after done move all your engineers to the church to barricade the hell out of it. leave 1 at the left bridge and 1 or 2 at the top bridges for repairs. too barricade i would get infantry groups to grab any pak's not in use and set one looking to the left behind the wall next to the church, 1 looking up the top in some spot where it will have defenses or use sandbags to cover it, and one looking to the right where it can cover the cafe entrance you came in the mission before and the area where the fuel is, put some mines covering the breakable wall at the end of the fuel alleyway and to the left of where you go towards the cafe, another wall is there that tanks bust up. and lay mines around the top entrance and the left too, near the munitions post most likely, they take out the enemy and if you can keep the post you can see a little of the enemy attacking that area but no need of it so do not defend it directly, just the church. so set up a few mg nests taking the positions that the enemy comes from and also some mg squads blocked by sandbags near them, also in the building around the church. and as an option you can make some airborne with recoilless for mobile support just in case you need to reinforce an area easily. If you have any questions just ask and ill try and help.
but really the best defense you can have is to hot key every unit you have and recall it when they say your getting shelled and then just set it up looking at all the positions attacking the church( left, top, top right, right) and just hold out, after awhile you get Sherman to kick ass with too!
also i just had to say, my answer had more heart then Apollo's message haha
lol thanks for the tip man but i beat that lvl im talking about the one after it. god did i hate that church lvl. fucking tanks just rolled over my defences. i just put as many MG nests as i could at all of the bridges. i think the flaw in my plan was that i had my infantry too spread out. in the end i had to pull all 3 of my ATs back to the church along with my MGs i tried to pull back my paratroops but they werent so lucky. i had 2 mins left and all of my forces were at my base with no hope of a counter attack. but i had 3 snipers in the church picking off the axis MG and AT then using them as my own. with 1 min 20 seconds left i was positive that i lost. then i found that i left 2 squads of paratroops, fully beefed out with max veterency, full squad cap, 2 light machine guns , a recoiless rifle and a panzerschreck. so i flanked from the rear and ended up surviving till my tanks came in where i mopped up the last of the foces. sumthing i was proud of lolz well can you give me another full hearted answer to the next lvl. ill be your best friend

thanks, i have like 40 new ones i need to upload to my thread lol. and ya American campaign is hard, i personaly prefer the PE's
OK well for this level, i usually spend like and hour and a half on this just messing around but I'm sure you could drop that time down a bit... i always set up the base on the left and just produce a lot of tanks and aa with mgnests arround the border for the panzers that come and attack. I usaly move up a few snipers for scouting and then move up the tanks holding a line each time.
after i get up to the first checkpoint i dont capture it and move to the town to the right where the panzer command is so alot less pesky tanks... dont forget to have a "crab" to take out the mines after the town behind the second checkpoint.(by the way going up the right side with eather all aa infantry or 3 or 4 squads of infantry and rest tanks) so at this point we split up the forces, about 2/5(then after controled [ not captured] wiull send half to the second) of it goes to the first checkpoint, and the 3/5 of the rest of the force moves up to the last checkpoint and clearing the base to the left behind the tree's and then moving to defend the checkpoint.
on the way there will be trees to the left and a wall to the right( after you go past the graveyard) where there are mines so you have to clear them.
after you have cleared the right road, set up defense positions to the top right area and between the top 2 checkpoints and down to the base that you cleared behind the graveyard.with a few troops on the checkpoints themselves. and capture all at the same time(hopefully you have not captured any of them yet) and just wait for them to move up to the right because you will not get much resistance at this point, hence why you kill the 2 bases... well good luck and again, post if you need help
well ya the PE campaign is fun but its too damn short... and the British, only way to win is infra rush... the tanks suck besides the mark 5s or what ever are all crap. but damn... the mission with the heavy battle tanks is fun... i like how unrealistic it is ;) if you hullldown (what ever it is) on a Sherman firefly it can take out like 7 kings... ha ha
lol thanks man i just beat the friggin level. i turteled thru and thru. took me like an hour to set up a base, fortify it, reel out 3 tanks, take out the forward position and take out the panzer groupen. the fuckers are what killed me the last 3 times. hey have any of you noticed that the american half track is the greatest anti infantry in the damn game. i meen FOUR 50 CAL TURRET!!! god damn that just rapes the hell out of thos panzy grenadiers.
