Another nice trick is to draw them into a well defended position.

Place a few 57mm near a good solid defendable location, and send a few infantry forward to fire off some shots, and and let them retreat back towards your artillery.

Thanks all for responding, here are some more comments. I see a pattern, micro allied against axis tank to win. Does anyone else see the problem with this picture?

  • Micro management is not that easy to do. For the following reasons
  • It requires far more skill to micro than to use 1 axis tank
  • Micro can fall part very easily; units die off or you can’t produce quickly enough
  • Anyone decent will also micro axis, 1 tank with support is extremely hard.

i. For example tank, with soldiers and sniper can kick a lot of ass.

  • I also read … just have 3 tanks against their tank to win. That is a 2:1 ratio of resources.
  • AT guns will kill themselves if the tank is too close.

Bottom line is that allied seem more difficult to play, because it requires more mico skills.

That's why I love the airborne! You can just let them fall down from the sky to make the unit whole again.

If you're going to be at all succesful you need to do some micro-ing when playing Axis or Allies. You have to watch out for units that can exploit the weakness of your units (e.g. infantry spot AT gun in path of tank). You can't just expect to send your units into a general area, you have command your units accordingly and you will be more successful. Make sure you have a mixture of units at all times to counter anything that comes in your way. If you have some 57mm's, some airbourne with recoilless' and for example an M10 you should be able to rip up an axis tank in a few seconds. Its a good idea to have some engineers about to repair your vehicles and the armour commander skill of field repairs is useful as well.

Look at the highlighted pieces of text and explain to me how that is possible.

I think what the guy was trying to say was having airbourne and field repairs at the same time is impossible because they are from different doctrines.
