Here we go again - when OF came out I thought I would give it a chance to get ironed out (and practice how to play the British) - I had always loved playing COH, everything about it was just great EXCEPT the incredibly bad sportsmanship, tolerance and manners of a number of players. And this in a game you would think would attract the more intelligent members of our society! So I played World in Conflict for 3 or 4 months - game seemed to suit me since I rose to general very quickly but what I really noticed was the absolute rarity of bad manners - and that is in an intense game with 8 on your side in different roles where mistakes (and clever play) leap out at you AND there is voice so the opportunity to get nasty is vast. My record shows I played over 3000 games of WIC and I think I can remember 2 mild critical comments in all that time - when I was a noob better players actually befriended you and helped you through the mistakes. Now I am back with COH and played 7 games automatch to see how my practice had gone, won 3 - lost 4 (LV3) and it all came flooding back - in 2 out of 7 games I was subject to the usual abuse, I had forgotten how bad it was. What a pity after the super friendly guys in WIC (if only it was as good a game - in my humble opinion as COH). I am truly amazed at the lack of manners (generalising I know) in COH - heck my 2nd game I play with a guy who should have practiced Brit a bit more, he really struggled and we got murdered but I said before the end "well tried, keep practicing mate" - so what we lost. I remember aplogising in a game of WIC when I did something really stupid one time and one of our team said: "Eigs nobody plays badly on purpose - forget it - you know what your mistake was" Can you imagine that in COH - heaven help us if and when we get voice thrown in. All I can say is what a pity, these ill-mannered sports do not make me angry. just sad that they choose to play and spoil such a great game.

I've had great teammates, they always compliment me, or if I make a mistake, tell me not to worry, and I try to do the same.

Be nice against your teammates and opponents, don't use crappy strategies like blobbing or emplacement spamming and you'll get respect.

I treat everyone kindly - treat as a game - I use all sorts of strategies: whatever I think the sit calls for. The bad sports are a minority, I have to stress that, but they sure make for a miserable game.

I have generally had good sports in CoH, except today when i was playing a 4 player game, my ally and isecured the choke points and i was building up a force to overwhelm them and he kept telling me to move up, i told him i was regrouping and he rained abuse down on me (as well as calliope rockets down on my base).

I know what you mean Eigs

While I understand what you mean, I simply suggest you ignore them as they have a reason (albeit it's still a bad reason). The thing with CoH in team games is that, in order to win you must have good teammates and good teamwork to successfully achieve victory. People usually get more frustrated over time as they stumble across players who aren't on par with them in terms of skill to the point where they just lose their manners.

I just hope you understand them, and to be honest the only thing you can do is to simply ignore them or just play with friends. Continue playing, and have fun.
