I've searched through every forum I could find. Here's the deal. If I host a game, no problems. When I join a game, BAM!, lockup in 5 sec. I previously ran the game fine before doing some system upgrades. I'm using the Detonator 53.03 drivers now, latest chipset and soundcard drivers are installed. I have the patch and am using the ET loader. Have'nt downloaded any other maps yet until I fix this. If the video drivers are the cause, how can I host a game with no problems?
Update: I can play on non Punk Buster servers all day. What's the deal with the 50 series drivers. I've tied every damn hack and tweak I could find. By serching different forums, I believe the 50 series drivers on PB servers is the problem. How screwed is that? Even Balance or nVidia really need to fix this. I really don't need the 50 series drivers as I have a TI4600. I'll see if reverting works.

I had the same problem.
This is how you can fix it.. go to Nvidia website and look for the Archive of old drivers. I found that the 43.xx I think it is drivers work best for me. I think that is the correct one. It was a pretty old driver but it works good.
I used it on my Geforce 3ti and now on my Geforce 4ti that I just installed. no lockups.
Thanx. I was using the 40 something drivers before with no problems. It seems to be the overall opinon and fix in different forums. Like I said, I don't think my card (TI4600) would benefit from 50 series anyway.
