My main expectation with the new patch was that the gap between axis and allies weapons would be reduced. For that i consider the new patch a failure.

With less (no) bunny-hoping the heavier guns are at big disadvantage to the ppsh and thompson since its impossible to move into open (semi-open) territory with them. With the subs you still can zig-zag your way and pray.

People rush on to the ppsh more then ever and the score in HQ looks like 450 allies --90 axis.

I like HQ and the uneven amount of nades. They went too far with the new scopes. Just less overall precision with the scope would have been wiser.

Also ive got the feeling that the rifle (esp kar) are a bit worse now (still trying to find out why ive got this feeling). Maybe its because im still on the old sight mode.

German weapons are just fine. I'm having no problems with the patch at all. I think in fact the German weapons "were" improved. After installing the patch my score went up. I have been playing axis since day one and I am pleased as hell. Great job IW. Just my opinion.

Why not play on realism servers like CKR? All weapons are balanced and its the best mod out there for mp.

The Mauser is better, you just have to get used to the new sight position. It takes a litle while, but once you get the hang of it, it's a powerful weapon.

Actually if nobody noticed, the german weapons were always way more powerful than the Allied weapons in COD. Hell, with an MP40 you can snipe half-way across the map, you can snipe all the way across the map with an MP44, don't even get me started on the Kar98K. With that gun, you didn't even have to use iron sights, all you had to do was aim in the general direction of someone and they would die. I'm glad to see some things downgraded.

Ok in my opinion the axis weapons are good.But they did weaken all the smg's at close range.I was playing on pow camp last night and i was using the rifle and i picked up a ppsh,Now i ran into a german with a mp40 and we went into a little fire fight,usually by than he would have been dead but i was the one sitting on the ground like ???.I think it's good that they weakend the ppsh it was to much of a good thing.well not really but you get the point.

The problem with uneven weapon isnt that you cannot get good kill/death ratio. Any very experienced players will get a good score using a kar. But for teams play its awfull. The problem is that your random partner will be crushed against a random opp with a superior weapon. Remember that most players will shoot before getting a proper aim so for them having a high rate of fire or higher damage is simply a too big advantage in the long run. So 8 average players holding mp40 will get crushed facing 8 ppsh or thompson. Same for mp44 vs Bren(or bar). And bolt rifle are no match vs semi with bigger magazines . Try a rifle only server and see a 220-100 for the lee-enf or garand. If it wasnt enough, to aim with the kar is a lot tougher then with the mosin.

Just check the score on any servers HQ TDM. Check any DM and see what country the players take. See how quick the ppsh are taken in Pavlov when they fall on the ground. Ask any tough player and they will tell you how bad allies weapons dominate the axis weapons. And trust me its not even close.

I always play on the weaker side either auto-assign or ill change team when the other get they ass kicked and i almost always ended up on the axis side.

Once i a while i relieve some pressure by using a thompson to get my 35-11 score and when i start to feel guilty i go back playing the allies.

Ummmm fluffy... Have you been playing some really crappy realism mods? I've heard of one that essentially makes guns kill with one hit and the accuracy is insane and you never need to use the iron sights... The game feels just fine to me... I don't notice any difference in weapon damage at all.

I've been playing normal COD. And I'm sticking with my point, the rifles are really powerful and they take no effort. The first time I picked up the Kar98K in COD MP, I was able to run and gun everybody. When I had some time in-game I tried out running and gunning on walls to see where the bullet hit, and the kar98k rifles hit in the dead center every time, the reticle just gets bigger, and all you have ot do is figure out where the center is and everyone is dead.

HOWEVER, I've been talking about the original COD, I haven't really tried out the stuff in 1.2 yet. : P

Rifles are nice, but only on hurtgen (that includes 1.2 sniper rifles). In other games (I only play tdm) gamespeed it too fast for them (cuz they aren't versatile).

German weapons not good? LOL! Have you ever played the mp44. It's the most versatile weapon in the game. Long range: check, medium range: check, short range: check, solo play: check, support other players: check, etc. On every map the mp44 rulez imho!
