If you were on the attacking team, and not attacking, then I'm sorry to say, you were camping. You can't call it defense, because well, what are you defending? As part of the attacking team you should be moving in to attack and destroy your objective, not sit back and wait to pick off a few germans in order to increase your kill count.

The trouble was I was attacking, I then spotted the others coming back at me so I went back to the machine gun, my m8's got killed and I just waited for 5 seconds and the germans came through so I shot them. Trouble was I was kicked and was told it was camping. Now when I've done this on other servers I've been told great shots and people laughing. But on this server everyone complains about the camping lark. But my point was it was a tactic, thats why in your command voice you can shout "Fall Back", and thats what I did.

I completely disagree. It is common sense that, if you see an enemy, to put yourself in an advantageous position to kill them. If this means falling back to an MG and waiting on them, then so be it. If they want to push their defense, then they must deal with the consequences. This is a much different scenario than "offensive camping" where someone just picks a spot and sits there the whole game. This is an advancing player spotting the enemy and putting himself in a position to easily kill them. Killing the defenders is as much offense as getting the objective. Attacking does not equal just running about wildly towards the objective spraying anything that moves and hoping you survive. Attacking should be a TACTICAL advance towards the objective. Meaning as many of you should be alive and as many of them dead as possible when the objective is reached. You have the full clock to reach the objective, using it wisely, when necessary is always the best course of action.

=ZM=Rage, thank you for that. This is what I ment. If you wasnt suppose to fall back or regroup, the makers wouldnt of put these commands in the list. As this game is supposed to be realistic, and sometimes the troops do fall back to a position where they can fight a better fight without getting killed. If s place is tactically strong then why not use it?? I can understand some people complaining about camping as some people do stay in one place, not bothering to do the mission, but to go for the kills and letting the timer for the mission run out. Its just like the mission on the single player where you have a time limit to break someone out of the POW camp. You dont see the camper staying at the gates and letting the germans come to them. As this would mean they would fail the mission and wouldnt beable to complete the game. But it should be a rule for all the MP servers that camping is up to the person. If they want to camp they can do. If the germans wants to camp then it could be classed as defending, and if the allies want to camp when they should be attacking, then the germans could hold back and let the time run out. Its all "Tactics" !! In the 1st and 2nd World War, you never heard soliders complaining to their captains / majors / rank officers, that the other side were camping and killing them and it wasnt fair lol. They just spotted the camper/s and tried to "out flank them". You can just hear what it would be like: Solider "Sir, that bloke is camping over there, we cant get past him!!" Officer -shouts "Solider, stop camping there, move now or you'll get kicked off the battlefield !!" Enemy Solider "Oh, I am very sorry, I wont do it again! Please dont kick me, I have a very sore botty !!" ROTFLMFAOPMP

Sorry, I mis-read your earlier post. I didn't realize you were just falling back and that you were attacking. The people I'm talking about are the ones that just camp at the spawn point for the enitre map when they are supposed to be attacking and going for the objective. for example: On Depot, a british soldier, rather than moving in to attack, or taking up an attacking position, will go move to one of the back corners in the spawn area and go prone. They will wait there for the entire map, and when all his team mates are dead, he will wait for the remaining german solders to move in and look for him. When they do, he will pick them off one by one. He may get one, maybe two, but usually there are too many of them and they'll eventually over whelm him and eventually finish him off ending the round. This, IMO, doesn't accomplish anything other than to increase that player's kill count, waste the other player's time and just genernally piss a bunch of people off. Worse still is when you get groups of these people, therefore reducing the number of attacking players to next to nothing and the advance is killed within the first minute of the round. For the next 4 minutes you have to sit in spectator mode and wait for the Germans to move in and finish off the remaining "campers."
