hey im getting the hl2/cs source package tomrrmow, and i just got a killer new pc with specs way above cs sources, and i was curious if it will run smoothly online on dialup if the specs are above met? thanks guys

i have 256 ram adn x700 pro 256 mb adn 2.8 ghz p4 and dial up and i can run the game on medium no lag

The game will run, but it will still be laggy on dial up


If there is no image, Mikey broke something...

ok well anyone else with any info or experiences with it? ill be getting it tomrorow and i really dont wanna waste the 50 bucks on it.

is hl2 good by the way?

Yes, i thought HL2 was an excellent game, but be prepared for a long wait while Steam validates your files..........

Yeah, you can play it on dial up.....but updates will take you forever. Also i wouldnt suggest going into a server with more that 5 people.

No matter what you play, if you're online it'll suck because of the dial up.

no matter what i play? i can play wc3 online no lag at all im just skeptical on cs source, but idunno everyone is telling me soemthing different lol

WC3 is a bit different.

First person shooters are fast, you can't affor losing too many 0.1 seconds. And 3D game..

When Steam downloads resources for CS Source, well that will take a good 12 hours on dial up and then downloading new maps and sounds etc would take forever playing on a populated server would lag like hell, so IMO there is no point in getting it with dial up, its just a waste of time & money

I have 1mb broadband, a pc perfectly capable of running CS 1.6 on highest settings flawlessy and that lags time to time
