I was wondering, did anyone really really want this game before they played the demo? I know that the demo was the clincher for me.
Weird as it is, what first got me ready to buy the game was learning that Michael Giacchino was doing the music for it. Then I played the demo - quietly cursed about having only one level - and had a pretty damn good time, so those two factors are what have convinced me. One of the nice little effects in the demo is when a mortar shell hits too close to you, dirt goes flying up in your face, everything gets muffled, then as your ears start to cope reality sounds its way back in like something out of Saving Private Ryan. Very cool. :bows: My only gripe, and this may just be me, is that the skybox was like 16 colors (I'm exaggerating, but it was poorly blended). Don't know if its my 9700 Pro being fussy, maybe just a demo thing, or something else.
The demo may only be one level, but I have played through that level at least twenty times. It is such a kick*ss experience. I personally like all the funny quirks with the fellow squad members, it just looks so funny when they crouch and move around.
I wanted it since my friend showed me their site back in June :nodding:
