well personally i think it just comes down to two things.

1. depends on who you are playing against. it aint to great if ya gonna get rushes but map that require aiming long distances it's great for picking people off. yes it only has 8 shots but if you kill the person you aiming at and take cover like you should there isnt a problem. 2. depends on what kind of soilder you are. if your a run and gun type no.... but great for picking off annoying people at a safe distance.

Been playing a lot more since I last looked at (and possibly replied in) this topic and I have to say that the Garand sucks a lot more than is reasonable. It's sight is almost as huge as the Lee-Enfield and the fact that you can't reload has you wasting ammo just to be safe. my favourite rifle is the Mosin Nagant but closly followed by the Kar98k, the bolt loading action causes me to pick my shots much more carefully and not just ream out 8 shots, duck, ream out 8 shots, duck and so on until I die without any kills. p.s. hate the sniper rifles... hate them I can hit sniper distance with a normal rifle, all the scope does is make shorter ranges difficult

Like any weapon in a game, it is useful when it is useful. The Garand is fun to use. As for the real thing, it happens to be that the M1 Garand was an extremely accurate rifle, and still is by today's standards. A Garand can hit a target the size of a man's head at 500 yards. 500 yards is a looooong way. Naturally, you would need a powerful scope to do that, but the weapon is capable of it.

No. The Garand is capable of causing a casualty at 550M, that is how long of a range it is expected to kill/injure someone. It is accurate up to 1,000 yards. With AP, or Armor-Piercing Ammunition, it can go through 6" of Oak Wood at 800m.

However, I don't find the un-scoped rifles to be as fun in CoD as in other games. The SMG's and sniper rifles are always the most enjoyable to use in WWII games. The M1 Garand was a very fine weapon indeed, and would operate for long periods of time while dirty and unlubricated without jaming.

Ever hear of "one shot one kill.." guess not from the sound of things. The M1 Garand is the 1st semi-automatic rifle in the WoRlD WHO CAN BEAT THAT! besides its a good balenced weapon who cares about the reload time.. you fire one you shoot one... LEARN TO AIM NOT BURST FIRE! I should know I own a M1 garand and its the best rifle I ever handled..

Plus im a MoH SH player.

Lt.Patterson 101st The M1 Garand is the 1st semi-automatic rifle in the WoRlD WHO CAN BEAT THAT! Plus im a MoH SH player.

The first semi-automatic rifle, a Mannlicher, was introduced in 1885.

The Garand was the first semi-automatic rifle adoped for military use by the US, but not the first semi-automatic rifle in the world in the world.

I know what MOHAA is, but don't know what an SH player is. A clan I suppose. :uhoh:
