Hey, I'm new! :D Anyway, I got this game a little while ago, and it seems I can't play :uhm: Is there like some commands I need to know to be able to kill people? My ping is the same as everyone elses, but it just seems that everytime I run around a corner, boom dead. I spectate, and try to do the same thing, but only deal 1/5 of the damage they do when they shoot in the same place. I heard something about rates, what are these? Do these effect gun damage or bullet speed? Any tips for a newbie? Thanks!

Sounds like all you need is to keep playing. Don't worry about being called a noob, it's just a kind of hazing & it's a playing tactic to rattle an adversary. It's a great game.

Remember, "defuse bomb" button is "e", the same one used to rescue hostages. I would suggest getting a MAC10(Ingram, the $1400 Terrorist SMG), or the FAMAS(Clarion 5.56, the cheapest CT rifle) High rate of fire will help you. Remember to crouch when firing, or at least hold "Shift". Be sure to look around corners, be cautious, and travel with teammates, and you will get better. Also, rifles, the M249 Para, and the Desert eagle/Nighthawk can all fire through walls. Take advantage of this if you have plenty of ammo, and know an enemy is on the other side of the wall.

Well, "best" is open to debate. personally, I prefer the USP, higher clip capacity and almost as much damage, with less recoil.

If u think ur crosshair scale is to big co to "options, keybourd, advanced options, and then check mark enable concole." then hit apply next hit the botton under escape on ur keyboured then enter cl_crosshairscale 40000 hit enter then go into a game. ur crosshair aimer gets smaller so that u can get headshots easier. Hear another helpfull hint play on the less complicated maps like de_dust and de_dust2. and u can also make your own game and add bots. they are a good way to train and get better. if u need any other help send me a question at coolio_41@hotmail.com.

The bot training is a real good idea.

You'll be a lot better when you beat the bots but, there are a lot of people out there that are much better than the bots. If you jump in a game w/people that have played CS from the beginning; you'll still get killed a lot.

Many people are real good at this game.

I know, I still have a ratio of about 1:5 on most servers, and I've been playing on and off since 2004, about :p Oh, avoid LAN servers. It seems people in LAN games aren't as good as people in "the wild" of public or clan servers. This is one reason why I still suck at CS. But, after a week or so of playing on pubs and clan servers, I went on to a LAN one, and thoroughly pwned them.
