SittingDuckWe use voice communication to not only talk in game, but to keep in touch. It's cheaper than a phone bill ($6 a month for a 20 player Ventrilo Server). We do give out positions in game to keep everyone aware of what's going on. So if what you're asking is that everyone who uses some kind of voice chat software to use the Honor's system and say "Ok, we will remain quiet as the opening night of Gigli while we're dead" then fine...I'll be that quiet...are you going to trust me? If you're asking the people who made ALL voice communication software (Ventrilo, TS, Roger Wilco, GameVoice, etc...) to collaborate with the game makers to make their code work with the game....well, you're asking an investment of millions of dollars, endless patches from both the game developers and the voice chat software developers and a phenominal amount of time invested. Who's gonna write the petition for that? lol So maybe the honor system is the way to go. Sign a disclaimer before you install the game "I will not use voice chat to talk while I am dead." Please stop the rambling about something that can't be controlled...it's outside of anyones scope to get this idea to work...as novel an idea it is, it will never happen...But, I personally promise I will never talk on voice chat when I'm dead.
spot on thats what i meant to say... :bows:
I've been playing on the PS2 game Socom: US Navy Seals, which you use a microphone to talk to friends and give orders to other guys on SP and MP. Now on this game, when you've been killed, the system knows that you have been killed and cuts you out. So the only guys/gals you talk to are the dead ones, as some say you have a right laugh when you watch the others die. I just cant understand a huge game like Socom and Call Of Duty that are simular type of game, where PC is a huge market and has more power than a PS2, but the programs dont detect when your dead, but the PS2 does.
I didnt want my point of view to cause a big arguement, but it was just my single point of view thats shared by others. I just thought it was unfair for some guys to be giving out help on games when they are supposed to be dead in the game.
PEACE !! :D
its :smokin: :nodding: :cya:
ummm...........in socom the voice chat feature is part of the coding of the game and integrated. PC voice chat doesn't work that way.......*sigh*
me tinks, he canna leave it alone :( I've just been looking at Team Speak web sit and it does look like a good program for talking. While I was looking through the forum of TS, I found that theres quite a lot of people talking about the DEAD issue, and found out that it is possible for this program and many others to have the DEAD issue placed in. Soooooooo, when you die on the game, you can be switched over to another channel on TS or which ever one you use, but its got to ome from the person who installed the TS into the server. So the clan or group who use the TS, CAN make it possible for the DEAD to talk on one channel and the living to talk on another channel, but its got to be set up by the ADMIN (one who put the TS on the server). :deal:
