JTF2 , your posts that says "It doesn't matter if you pay $1000.00 for a video card that can pump out 400 FPS with vsync off. If the monitor's maximum refresh rate is 85 Hz, that will be the maximum FPS you will see. If it turns your crank to see 400 FPS by turning vsync off, when you are really seeing 85 FPS, there is nothing to cure that problem except buy a better monitor. " This post is incorrect information. Being your playing with a video card thats at least 3-4 year old technology that you can buy on ebay for $60, I fail to see your knowledge for posting such a thing. Now, I'm posting out of real world experience. I am 1 of your so called crank turners that went out and spent $450 on a 6800GT combined with a P4 3.00 running @3.4 my system I built specifically for gaming. I wont discredit all of your post, the part that you can only see what the monitor refreshes at is correct. But let me tell you that without any doubt you can feel the difference! As we all know gaming combines visual reaction times along with physical reaction times. A big feature of a games success or failure is the feel generated during gameplay for the user. Granted the typical player may have no use for 200 FPS in this game or any other.. But trust me.... you Will not find any LEET players playing on a sub-par gaming system.. why do you think that is? Its not for the WOW effect for the better graphics its the SPEED dude. SPEED KILLS if you can see it or not... the difference is real the feel is real ...
Back to the question of the post com_maxfps 0 1024 resolution @ High details no AA no AF 175-275 FPS
When I use max fps of 0 my game hangs sometimes. I just use max fps of 125. I have a 9800 pro at this time. When i get my x800 xt i'll change it to 333. Read somewhere that those figures (125 and 333) are the best max fps setting.
Mine is like 2...
