Why are there invisible objects in CSS maps? -1 reply

Hey guys. I have a quik ? Y is there invisible furniture in CSS maps, for instance office. The furniture is invisible until u walk up 2 where its supposed 2 be, then all of a sudden it appears again. Do i have 2 reinstall the game or is it somethin else. All suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thx. Reply Soon.

ive never heard of anything relating to invisible furniture or other objects... my only conclusion is that you are receiving quite a bit of lag, or your video settings are too low.

its because ur running in direct x 7 mode

Yes, there is some fix for it, and Official Valve fix probably coming.

Turn up your DX level or try find it from Steampowered forums, it's answered there.

Go into your \counter-strike source\bin\ folder and open a file called dxsupport.cfg with wordpad or notepad. Scroll down untill you see this text.. "2" { "name" "70" Then look for these values "ConVar.r_screenfademinsize" "150" "ConVar.r_screenfademaxsize" "250" And change them to this.. "ConVar.r_screenfademinsize" "0" "ConVar.r_screenfademaxsize" "0"

Now look for these values. "ConVar.cl_detaildist" "0" "ConVar.cl_detailfade" "0" And change them to this.. "ConVar.cl_detaildist" "1200" "ConVar.cl_detailfade" "400"
