I ask this here because there are more people viewing. And I wonder if I overclocked my CPU, would it help my general preformance? I have my video memory on my card overclocked at 660 mhz and 550 mhz. Which has increased my performance greatly in Crysis.
I've read people having things like "Pentium 4 3.2 clocked at 3.4" and I think what the hell? So how do you do it?
Pentium 4 3.00 ghz Radeon 2600 Pro 512 mb DDR2 onboard memory 2 gigs of DDR2 RAM 533 mhz each. AGP 8x
Very High on all tabs 1024x768 No AA get like 20-40 FPS
I didn't make it!
You can overlock your pc, by editing your computer's bios. You need to change tactical rate(Mhz) or to change multiplier. But remember, if you are overlocking your pc, it's gonna be more hotter than ever, so sometimes you gonna need to buy new cooling system. ;)
Ahh, I'll keep that in mind thanks.
That didn't work, my computer kept restarting on me. Any other suggestions?
Unless you know what ur doing or are confident, dont bother. If you are unsure you need to read up on it or risk buggering up your parts m8. This guide is aimed at C2D but a lot of it still applies to P4. Hope it helps. Custom PC's Ultimate Core 2 Overclocking Guide | Features | Custom PC
Yeh, overclocking can be a big advantage but a big risk aswell, iff you are absoluttaly sure you want to risk it go ahead, but i wouldent risk with the computer you got, but thats just my opinion.
Nice job guys pointing out the fact that it's pointless trying to overclock if you want an improvement in Crysis because it's 95% video card dependent.
