Hey everyone! I reinstalled Crysis for the second time thinking it would fix my problems. When I play Crysis it gets really low frame rate and it is all slow. I hit the optimized settings, and everything gets set to Very High in the advanced options. I installed Crysis, but didnt install the Windows updates mentioned after the installation. I have the Nvidia Geforce 8800 GTX video card, so I see that this game isnt using my video card to the full potential. I installed Crysis, restarted, installed patch 1.1, restarted, installed patch 1.2, and then restarted again. I then set all settings to low, and set the resolution to 800x600. It was still slow then. Should I install the windows updates mentioned at the end of the intallation? If so, where can I find them? THANKS!!!!!!!

Dont use AA or AF or Vsync as they slay FPS.

I am not using Anti Alaising, or Vsync. I am not so sure what AF is. The thing is, I had Crysis working wonderfully last Spring. I reformatted my PC and now it isnt working. I think I have to update Vista a bit.

I had this problem. Weirdly though, my FPS increased greatly with everything on medium (don't wanna torch my cpu just yet, lol), textures set on very high, shaders set to low.

Doesn't look half as good as it could but atleast it doesnt chug along anymore, lol.

Even with 2 280GTX in SLI with a core2 quad pumped to 2.8 you'll still noy get great frame rates. This is a PC monster. I use the above with XP all the latest drivers and what was 2months ago the top of the line vid cards i LI and stioll frame rates at Medium at 1024x768 are around 45fps. You really need a pair of the new 295s which is a $1000 for the 2 right now so as it stands this is a true test of the state of the art machine.

I don't know if this will help, but I found a program for amd CPU based MB's that claims to improve your gaming experience. It's called Fusion, I have downloaded and installed it but have not tried i as yet. Although the reviews I have read says a lot of good things about it. From what I can tell it will shut down most of the programs that run in the background on windows which should free up some memory and cpu power. And when you are through gaming just turn it off and it will automatically restart everything it shut down. There are also a couple of programs listed on the site for ATI video cards. As I said I don't know if it will help anyone but there it is. I have put the link to the page below.
