With out a doubt, crysis is one of the most revolutionary fps ever. With next-gen graphics and completely dynamic game play, There aren't many games of this genre that can top it.

There not much that can be said that can point out the flaws in crysis' gamplay (aside from a few multiplayer bugs) But I have to point out the graphics. Yes, as you can see they are the best out there but, in my humble opinion, they could most definitely be optimized better (even considering all the technology). My computer can run Half-Life 2 Episode 2 with the graphics maxed out at 200fps. When I play crysis, with everything on medium (except the sharers, on high) And the resolution at 1024x780 brings the game to a studdering 25fps. I know I'm going to get comments like "Your computer just sucks" but I'm just putting things into perspective here.

Lol, I'm loving the picture. However, with the 169.09 nVidia beta drivers, I get a solid 30 fps on a 1.6 ghz C2D Proc, 1 gig of ram and an 8600m GT on my laptop. And don't compare source games to Crysis. The engine used in Crysis is far more demanding then Source. It's hard to compare the graphics in source games to Crysis. Though I will admit that Source is optimized better.

Dude, 25 FPS is barely studdering... If your talking about studdering than you probably have 15 FPS, and Half lfie 2: Episode 2 can't even compare to Crysis, i mean Crysis use's a completely different engine and has way better graphics, not to mention the physics in it are more complex than Half life 2's, atleast by twice as much since they actualy include all the factors in it instead of when in half life 2 you just have some weighed objects with velocity and impact ratio's which aren't really that great in the first place. Crysis is worthy of game of the year, you can't say that about the orange box because it's more than one game and the even the games in it got ratings from between 7.5 -9, and 9 being Portal. Physics: Crysis > Halflife 2 EP2 Graphics: Crysis > Halflife 2 EP2 Gameplay: Crysis > Halflife 2 EP2 (atleast for me anyway) And It's not that Crysis is poorly optimized, it's because.... It's an all around more graphicaly enhanced and complicated game with Dynamic AI, incredible affects, and much more that is out of Halflife 2 EP2's range... So stop whining and buy an extra gig of ram... Or atleast get a better computer... You see my PC specs below my Sig.... I can run Crysis at mainly medium, volumetricity at low, and objects detail at very high, physics at very high, and Textures at high.... With an FPS ranging from 22-40 so, it's definately not the game... Your new banner for that Crytek Poster should be this... "Crytek... I don't have the computer to run it"

Dude, your acting like I said half-life 2 was better than crysis when I only brought it up as a reference . Read the top of the review. I actually think that Crysis is the best game out right now. (unless you count halo because thats a classic for me, even though its not as good)

and in terms of fps and studdering, I don't know how display the fps in crysis so I was just estimating. (I know how to measure it on HL2, but My computer has never been overall slowed down, so I would'nt know how much it takes to get it studdery. All I know is that its a bit studdery with the settings mentioned above.

And I should have been more specific about what I meant about optimization: In my opinion, its the lighting and the water could be a little better optimized. And when I compared it to HL2 ep2, for crysis to be 10x more taxing on your system is a little over the top, you have to admit.

Oh, and here are my specs:

Intel Duo core 2 93gb hard dive space 1.99 gbs of ram DvD Drive ATI Radeon x1650 graphics card LCD monitor.

So stop whining and buy an extra gig of ram... Or atleast get a better computer...

I knew I would get those kind of comments.

Some people can't afford to buy computers on a whim. I barley managed to get the money for what I have now.

BTW, saying "In my humble opinion the graphics could be more optimized is not whining."

So maybe you shouldn't complain then? I think it's pretty simple: you don't have the proper powerful hardware, so don't bitch about your 25 FPS. 'Sides, your job should pay for a $350 graphics card [8800 GTS 640 mb, or similar], and if it doesn't maybe you need to save more effectively, or get another job.

Personally, I make about ~$750 a week, and I have plenty left over after normal expenses like food, gas, gym bills, etc. I'm gonna upgrade again, so bitch about that. Yeah, my 8800 GTS 320 ain't good enough for me anymore. Maybe if you're nice, I'll give it to you...punk.

[quote=themanclaw;4058579] BTW, saying "In my humble opinion the graphics could be more optimized is not whining."

True, but it's not an issue of the engine, it's an issue of your graphics card [if it's good enough] and having proper drivers. Also, yes, drivers are not perfect, but far from it. Companies make money selling [Nvidia, AMD] videocards, not drivers. But yeah great drivers are things all gamers dream about, taking your current 25 FPS to 40 or 55, but that's a huge increase really, and worthy of dreaming about.

I don't have a job because I am 17 years old and in the middle of a very challenging junior year so I don't have time. (During the summer I work tho)

But I am actually buying an nvidia SLI geforce 8800GT.

I think everyone is missing my point here. People are think that I'm bitching about 25fps, when in fact, I merely think that the graphics could be optimized better (yes, even in proportion to how good they are), and people are taking it like I'm slapping them in the face. I think this also applies to more than just this game. Example: FEAR, I can run it just fine but that doesn't mean the graphics are very well optimized (which they are not)

Maybe the reason were taking it like a slap in the face is because you think too much of your system and turn up everything because you think you can handle it... Turn off AA, turn shaders up, it will give you the same affect as AAx2 and makes the game run smoother, turn down Reso also, it makes the game run alot smoother.... There is a reason why Crytek said it was one of the best optimizeable games out on the market... BECAUSE YOU CAN TURN CERTAIN THINGS OFF AND STILL HAVE IT LOOK BEUTIFUL AS HELL.... P.S. get a better GC... Nvidia's a hell of alot better, especially the GTS...

The settings are all on medium except the water (low) and the shaders (high) and I don't have AA on. resolution: 800x600

My whole thoughts about the game could be a little better optimized is just and opinion. So you don't have to keep telling me I'm wrong. (not trying to get personal about the matter)

way ahead of you. " I am actually buying an nvidia SLI geforce 8800GT." I head that the GT was way better than the GTS, and with too big of a price difference I decided to get that.

I'm sure that my FPS will get way better after that new card.

Yeah, 8800 GTs in SLI pwn even the 8800 GTX [barely though], and cost half of a GTX. You'll be very pleased with your SLI setup there, but you better have a nice processor to compliment your graphics cards.

Running it with high shaders is probably your problem then, there is no difference than running the shaders on medium except if your really that big of a graphics junkie.
