I bet you all have thoughts on crysis, ideas, inticipations. What do we really want from this new game? A bigger better sci-fi farcry (HELL YEAH!!!) . The graphics are sure to be good. Here you can express all your thoughts and ideas on this (probably) brilliant upcoming game.
I'm sick of being alone on games I want marines to fight with like on halo - but thats just me - I wanna here what every one else has to say.
Genome 66 :nodding:
What I want [And not neccessarily expect. My dream stuff in teh game.]
Better AI [not caught behind boxes, trucks, and still taunting me]
Better Sandbox [I assume it will be very good, so that's a given IMO]
Works good on lower-end computers but can also take advantage of insane-capable rigs [from DX8 to DX10. I know they say they are, but I hope it's a noticeable difference between 9.0 and 10.0]
Works on OS 2000, with XP clones and Vista. [Vista and XP Pro are confirmed, but I'm still running 2000 cuz it pwns XP]
Has more animal life like more fish, monkeys, turtles, etc [not to neccessarily interact with, but to add to the jungle ambience]
Can use alien weapons as well as human-made ones [pulse rifle and minigun at the same time]
Long singleplayer experience [though I wouldn't doubt I'll be mapping for Crysis too, a nice SP campaign is like essential IMO. Farcry did take a while to beat, and I hope Crysis takes at least as long.]
Farcry:Instinct-like abilities with the powersuit. Like picking up mounted weapons, running fast, etc.
No protect-the-NPC mission crap. I want to run the campaign solo.
"Guns. Lot's of guns." They said the guns will be moddable, like rifles can have scopes and silencers, but I hope it's just not switch this gadget to this gun, back and forth kind of deal. I hope it's more like it really matters what extra tools you add to your gun, I want the game to work differently if I have a silencer. I shoot a guy and his buddy 30 feet away doesn't hear it and coming running as opposed to I shoot him with my unsilenced rifle and he does come running. So I guess I mean, the AI knows what gun I'm using. They respond differently [like STALKER] when I blow a dude away with my pistol or if I use my minigun and blow up some truck, the level of aggression changes.
I just hope it's gonna become a worthy sequel of this great game. About the required improvements for that check the post above mine :)
The game will be great! Also like captain amerika said, i hope that aswell. The only i really hope are the requirments..
I thought the trailer set on the carrier looked pre-rendered, but that obviously just means the graphics will be super-awesome
I didn't make it!
The gameplay graphics and all the above look sweet the only problem I have is that the weapons are all fake I wantted real world weapons like in Far Cry c'om dont not to many FPS have real world weapons arnt we sick of it? I also hope they're drivable vechicals. But the rest looks so sick on the pc, probally the PS3 and Xbox 360 will not be able to keep up with the graphics when the game is running in DX 10.
The rifle they are using is based on the HK G36. That gun is called the AG36 in Farcry, and but it's true to it's real life counterpart. I think since the plot is so far out there, it's better to have interpretations of firearms. Besides, it's in the future, so it'd be a shame if you were using old hardware like a Desert Eagle and an FN P90. It's all about concepts. The minigun shoulda made that pretty damn obvious, IMO.
You cannot compare Crysis to current games on the X360, its just not right. DX10 will blow away every game on the current consoles. There might be hope for a comparison with the Wii or the PS3.
They say that you'll be upgrading for sure. The only thing I can keep is my FX-57. You're gonna want 2 gigs of memory, and at least a high-level PCI-E card to see the game running good. Running great would be a different story.
There's more about this over at this thread http://forums.filefront.com/showthread.php?p=2845826&posted=1#post2845826
More intellectual enemies, taunts are OK, but should be more intelligent and there should be an option to turn them off, like in UT. Melee options via punches, kicks, choke holds, knife throwing and neck breaking. Jack was ex Special Forces and all we saw him do was whine and use weapons. Levels where killing fails mission, choke (sleeper) holds, sleeping gas, and stun devices would be the only arsenal allowed, and enemies would wake up after a reasonable period of time, shorter at higher diff levels.
Levels or at least one where you have to escape with minimal if any weapons. Dam was way too short and easy, I'd like to see a military prison type of environment surrounded by mutants, wildlife, or aliens as a secondary measure preventing escape.
AI AND enemy placement should be better. The only AI boost in Far Cry at higher diff levels is the acccuracy in shooting. They should be more intelligent and there should be more of them on Realistic, especially at key points of passage.
Many have said Far Cry is too hard and takes a long time to beat, but there are some that have finished it on Realistic in under 2 hours. I myself have half the game on video, all but one level being Realistic, and am at about 1.5 hours so far with no damage other than a nick in the armor on one level that could have easily been avoided had I not chose to include hang glider sniping in the video.
The drivable vehicles were cool in Far Cry, but I'm hungry for more. Let's see something different, motocross bikes, base jumping chutes, & some flyable aircraft, preferably nothing too hard to control. I know lots of people like choppers, but I'd like to see something more stealth oriented, like a fan propelled parasail. Even a remote RC device for surveylance would be cool. Coupled with some nice random troop location AI it would be quite useful to plan an attack. The US military has experimented with RC glider planes as surveylance decices. They are quick, silent, and very power efficient. There are lots of thermals (warm air updrafts) on tropical islands to make use of such devices.
More equipment to help traverse the terrain, ropes, climbing harnesses, ascenders. Possibly even the ability to improvise and set traps with the available terrain. Be able to lift things and climb better, including trees.

Wow some great ideas coming in. Keep em coming. Thanks to all posters some of these ideas are great. ;)
