Ok, as you guys may have heard, my last mod (dubbed the "Crysis Deluxe Edition" mod) failed due to it's lack of excitingness. I really wasn't planning on changing anything other then the looks, which my team decided wasn't enough to waste their tame on, so they backed out. Makes sense, because I even thought that lol. So here's my comeback. I'm starting a mod. A huge mod. In fact, it's a total conversion. It's an Indiana Jones mod! I've been inspired by the new movie trailer, and while playing on Mesa, realised the Cryengine 2 would be sweet for and Indiana Jones game. I'll need to construct a team of the best mappers, coders, modelers, and animators out there (for the cryengine 2). I also need some really good voice acting (i'm hoping to god we can find someone who sounds like harison ford :lol:) and a talented writer to make a story for our mod. Hmm... Sounds interesting. I can only do basic modelling, but I'm pretty good at texturing, and I've also got quite a bit of experience in story writing.

My advice to you is to start the old one back up, finish it, then start up this Indiana mod.

Once you've at least got a basic handle on modding, which your environmental mod would teach you, then you'll be much more prepared to start this new mod.

My other bit of advice for you would be to talk to the high-profile modder teams and ask if any of them are dissatisfied with where their mods are at, and whether they could lend you some advice or time for your mod.

Making a HUGE mod is a HUGE undertaking, I should know, I've had a few failed mods in my past, and have worked on nearly a dozen modder teams, all of which, to my knowledge have failed [Pacific Tide, FarmCry, Toxic Dreams, etc] due to lack of knowledge, excitement, or public interest in the mod itself.

Start small, learn the process, then go big, and by that time your idea of the mod will probably have changed quite a lot, for the better.

Our Indiana Jones mod is officially under way! I will be starting another thread in a matter of minutes, that will be a bit more theatrical in appearance. I will also be placing threads at Moddb.com and Crymod.com announcing our mod, and asking for team members. We have some models already, which we will reveal as soon as we have made more progress.
