This really should be in off topic, but what the hey.

Boo techno, it's just noise. I'm a rock (fair bit of prog rock too...) fan. Mostly stuff from the 70s and 80s such as...

Genesis, Jethro Tull, Styx, David Bowie, Billy Joel, Randy Newman, Be bop deluxe (you won't have heard of them), Steely Dan, 10CC, Sting and the Police, Loudon Wainwright and It bites (I doubt you've heard of the last two either). I guess I'm old fasioned

Quite right.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go pass out before trying to tackle the hundreds of e-mails sitting in my inbox.

Does that mean you finally made it home from your long voyage at sea?

oops forgot about the topic. Im a metal head and classic rock fan as well as some classical music on the side. Im also a former guitar playing god that somewhere along the line gave up playing music in trade for old age, a crabby woman, and 'sigh' a house payment. Just sitting around now waiting for that sweet release.

Anyway, looking to my right I see Pantera, Sevendust, Iron Maiden, Danzig, Annihalator, Slipknot, and Judas Priest sittin on my desk. Oh yea, lets not forget my Metallica drink coaster sitting to my left.

Techno's not bad if you find the artists with any actual talent, Brookster. It certainly isn't everyone's cup of tea though.

Me, I listen to everything as long as it's catchy or somewhat original. Country doesn't much make that list, nor does rap most of the time. My favorite band is The Smashing Pumpkins who, alas, are no more. Had a good ten+ year run though and gave me a nice share of albums to enjoy. One of the most underrated bands of the last 2 decades if you ask me and one of the few groups where the lyrics of a song were just as important as the tune.

(leaps off a bridge)

ahhhhhh.......sweet sanity.

PS: If you didn't read between the lines. I hate that lot. But never mind...on with the show of music that people like.

Well, it's comforting to see that although my band may be gone, there are still people out there that have no clue what they're talking about when they criticize the Pumpkins. Billy Corgan's voice I can understand your opinion, but if you think James Iha, Billy Corgan, or Jimmy Chamberlain can't play, you've been pushin' that Q-tip a little too far in the ears. :p
