may the flameage begin! }>
Umm, I'll start. Star Trek vs. Star Wars threads are pointless, because they are set in different times, so there's no way to compare them. They were never intended to be compared, nor should they be. People should ave fun watching the freaking shows/movies rather than debating over which would "win."
Quite frankly, I think discussions such as these are a waste of time, I'd much rather take part in an RPG forum like y2ktm2 suggested earlier. Now if you guys will excuse my longest post ever, I'll be watching Nemesis.
Star Trek, end of story. Theres more choice as it was intended as a series and some of the movies are the best i've seen for a while *sits next to Kahless and starts watching Nemesis*
sw ion cannons will kick arse gets Nemesis disk picks up Phaser rifle shoots Nemesis dvd i hate that f***ing Movie
"Star Wars vs. Star Trek: Which series is more fulfilling?"
"Star Wars vs. Star Trek: who's ships would win?"
If it's the former, it's a matter of opinion. Some people like the storylines of the SWG better, some like Star Trek. It's as simple and clean-cut as that.
However, if we're talking ship vs. ship...First of all, I have to refute Wampa's statement. Ion cannons would do shit to Star Trek ships. Their shields are calibrated to protect against "primitive" ion and laser weapons. However, a Star Destroyer's turbolaser would work wonders, as they're not actually lasers, but supercondensed, superenergized gas. They'd zip through the shields.
However, the men and women of Star Wars are not without their disadvantages. Star Warsian shields only protect from things moving faster than a certain speed. It would do nothing against the Enterprise transporting 500 kilos of explosives on board.
Star Trek's cloaking mechanisms are FAR superior to Star Wars's. Period.
But Star Wars has an advantage. The X-Wing is about a fifth the size as the smallest ship in Star Trek (excluding shuttles) and there are far smaller, faster, and more maneuverable ships than the X-Wing.
ST has their own fighters (watch DS9) so do the Romulans.
anyway, ST has greater numbers. They have the Milky way, the Andromada Galaxy, the mirror universe, and Fluidic space. the SW galaxy is just that, one galaxy
*put's new nemisis DVD in, shoots STOMPAWAMPA with Torpedo launcher*
very good point...but im going to watch First Contact :p so ill finish up later
Also, with Star Wars, many of the tactics used seem to be all out attacks on single objects. The crews in Star Trek are always able to find an unexpected unforseen way of solving their crisis. Though all out attack blew up the death star. But only due to a lucky shot.

What is this "Star Wars" you are all talking about? Is it one of those strange films where some guys are running around and hitting each other in the head with some colorful clubs?
(please say you're being sarcastic) If you aren't, Star Wars is a movie that i think was created in the late 70s, though it's before my time so clarification would be necessary. It's outline story is a rebellion against an evil empire which a few Jedis are caught in. Either way, keep with star Trek because its better in my opinion.
