hey there. as you all know christmas passed by a few days ago and i got COD4 and crysis and it turns out that i had virtualy no space left. and i figured out it was all these mods i had. and this is what i think, im starting to just ignore mods totally because of several reasons. for me 1. whenever i play a mod it just doesnt feel as good as the original game. 2. ppl claim saying "this mod will balance out the game" but in my opinion it doesnt and no game is balanced and probably never will be. 3. sometimes the mods either focus on the new race they created making them uber tough, or they just focus on one race like the lights of the warp mod for example. it gave the races a whole lot of things but what of the orks. they still have a whole lot of units but they are just not cared for. 4. and ill stop here, some mods are just copying other mods. lotd, fok, ttru mods. they all added to the races but were just the same. hopefully the sums up my point about me thinking that the mods are overrated and are just not as appealing as the original game. maps, maps are something totally different. well that was long time for a beer :beer::beer:uh oh ;r

I've never understood why you put a totally disjointed message somewhere in your posts.

And mods sometimes do balance the game, sometimes they do balance the game. Your later posts kinda fucks up the earlier point, not to the point of contradiction, just to the point of stupidity. Ahem, so Modders aren't allowed to work on a new single new race or add content to a new race, some modders might want to add in new content. There's a lot of variety out there, a lot of people want different things and a lot of modders enjoy doing it. Sit back. Relax. They do it for fun, they aren't getting paid.

Oh dear, that last was just as discombobulated as yours.

From what I've seen of you, you aren't very tolerant. You seem to only like Shooters and real time strategy, to the point where you were criticizing other genres.

yep thats right im that kind of guy :) plus my opinion i just wanted to throw it out there for its been on my mind for a while. and wow you remember what ive posted before, i didnt think ppl cared much for what i posted *shrugs* plus critizsim is in much of the world im sure everyone know, and im guessing im just one of those ppl, arnt i special. edit: actually im tolerant to some extent but i do like other games, runescape was somewhat of a start, and actually i do find games such as WOW quite appealing, i just find it overhyped and me being critisized for saying its not a great game. racing games were great, heck one of my first games was mario kart, my ds game is mariokart, me and my old friend played need for speed, i even own zelda a great fantasy rpg game. im not trying to be an A-hole i just wanted to get one of the few things off my chest. so i hope i made some sense this time, and the part where i edited was to answer the last paragraph in your post.

Well it depends.

There's a number of extremely great mods out there. Others that are meh, and even more that are outright bad. I know full well what you mean, that it doesn't feel as good as the original etc. In my point of view, right now, the only really good mods are - dowpro, inquisition, sisters, and the DC steel legion. Hopefully they'll be followed by the Tau soon as well as the 'quins.

As to crysis and Cod 4 Sorry to say it, but from what I understood, Crysis multilayer is very meh, and cod 4 a bit extremely short, not to mention the unbelievability of hoard respawns.

thank you for agreeing although i was troubled by the last paragraph. i dont think i was talking about COD4 or crysis, well i did but it had very little to do with the topic, at least i dont think so.

i agree some mods arent very satifying as playing orignal game but trust me not all are like that... take TTRU it drmasticly alters the gameplay giving you a uniqe feel of combat that most mods like LOTW ignor. mods like FOK or LOTW though just add new units and make me feel like im playing a cheep knock off, so yes i feel some mods are over rated while some i feel are works of art

Mods is it's own category to give people a chance to try something new. You don't play mods just because it tells you too. Mods actually are meant to be different to the Game which is what confuses me as to why you don't appreciate that. It's true not all mods fall in a good line but really they are a good addition to the gaming genre.

I think, the problem is, that you've got no one to play them with. I play the mods here and there with my friends at times, and thus can greatly enjoy it.

That's the problem of the DOW community - map and mods don't circulate too much.

hmm wraithcat you may be right. i've always wanted to play daemon hunt with my friend and when we started it crashed, we tried again but it still happened. after that i thought that mods may have betrayed me...
