Okay, I have this friend who also plays dawn of war... well, he beats me into the dirt about every time we play. I'm not a bad player, have a good way of playing the necrons, and sometimes I have even slayed about 80% of his defences but it still was not enough.

i need a recipe that will tell me HOW TO ATTACK when power/money is no factor, when i have monolith (or not maybe) etc.

best tactics against orcs and space marines. (his two favourite races)

if you help me, i will give you permission to imagine me giving you a hug!

his way of army with the orcs: flash gitz in the back shooting like hell, two killa cans going to close combat, a lot of nobz with power claws and all orc commanders. he also haves this annoying habit of sending a mod dok into my army and blow them up with that insanelly overpowered bomb. (i ususally get to teleport my warriors away to the nearest building. we always play in biffys peril)

his way of playing with space marines:

terminator squads (2) land raider, 4 or more land speeders, space marine squads equpied with different stuff... apocatry's... etc. he just haves so much different stuff. it's like sailing you boat into a storm.

it's like you cant focus on what to fire at, there is so much crap shooting at you!

well, i know that i should not let him get all this stuff fromt he beginning, but believe me, he is no noob in this game.

help me find an attack that can put an end to him! :bows:

If your the necrons, try using the wraiths, and since you want T3 stragties, use the C'tan. The wraiths special ability and the C'tan make them immune to damage, that will keep the SM and Orks busy in a mass mob. Also use the special abilities for your race, I use to almost never do till i started the necrons. The necrons "come back to life spell" is probably the strongest spells ever. Even if the enemy wipes the floor with you, teleport your necron lord where you last got your ass kicked and bring them back. Your enemy will end up fighting you twice. Also use the Lesser necron lord to take over the enemy vehicles, an apporaching killer kanz and dreadnought will end up turning an them. The necrons aren't the fastest race when it comes to the infantry, but the hover craft guys are crazy fast. Don't group the hover craft with the infantry, in battle your hover craft will engage the enemy first before back up arrives and your hover craft will be finished. I normally use the anti-vehicle craft for quick hit and run tatics, killing dreadnoughts or what ever vehicle comes along. Hope this helps

flayed ones+heavy destroyers+monolith+res orb/viel of darknes/solar pulse=ownage use the viel of darkness to cloak the monolith and heavy destroyers and then use solar pulse so they cant shoot for a minnute (so you can kill them off with the monolith and destroyers) and then deep strike alot of flayed ones in. and once they are dead bring them down to the base and sumon a night bringer on thier buldings

The monolith should hand you victory once you resurrect it.

If you manage to get to teir 3 with the necrons you should have the game pretty much in the bag. A frontal force of basic necron warrioirs, backed up with a NL with solar pulse, and a viel of darkness, all you need at that point is some anti-vehicle which is provided in the form of heavy destroyers or destroyer lords (posessing) and a very angry monolith (afew flayed one's dont' hurt the cause either).

Flayed ones really pwn orks, as they become pretty useless when broken. However, they do really well against SM. They also teleport behind enemy lines which is really usefull. I would create a bunch of heavy destroyers againts sm as its their vechiles that are going to pwn you. Also, those guys that posess their vechiles, don't remeber their name, are usefull. I think attacking with a monolith is a little risky and over used. The thing is huge so it can block the rest of your army and if they destroy it, its game over for you if you don't have anoughter almost restored monolith. Thats why i always make two when i am necron.
