In tinkering around with various weapon loadouts and/or races, am I the only one that feels like flamers are grossly underpowered? While they're great at destroying morale, the actual 'damage' done is rather abyssmal. I understand they wouldn't be great against certain targets, (i.e. a flamethrower isn't going to so much as annoy a baneblade tank), but what about unarmored units such as ork slugga boys? I would think burning promethium would, in addition to scaring the *insert expletive here* do some serious damage.

balance, if they made it stronger it would be the ultimate infantry killing machine. except that the sob flamers turrets and listning posts do stink at killing heavy infantry, takes longer than other turrets.

Also flamers have relatively ok light building damage. And they are made for one important thing - short range disruption.

That is unless you speak about the tau commanders damage.

Actually, I think the crisis suits have a bit of an overkill with the flamers. Shame they tend to die off so quickly.

Not anymore. Their OP flamer was due to a bug thanks to which they had a zero reload on it and were able to do absolutely stunning damage. once it was toned down, the missile became a better choice.

I'm still surprised no one mentioned the possessed flamer though.

The flamers sole purpose is to destroy morale, get a squad of guys with flamers and a squad of guys with bolters and you'll wreak havoc... simple as that lol
