Well,I just got sick of space marines and chaos and started playing with the IG,and it is quite fun,and more difficult at the begging because the infantry is weak,I am looking for good tactics against Chaos,Tau and Necrons :D Also I think that relic should re-design the infantry,so that they may have some,automatic weapons,flamethrowers,put some more armor(some leg-plates lol) and more infantry units,because you have only 3 infantry units,and you can make only 1 squad of Ksr. I think it would be cool to have some sort of mobile bunker , like a baneblade where you can put units to shoot lol:beer:

The IG are weak, but their buildings are tough defensive structures. I almost never used the garrison feature till I was left with 3 squads of IG against a horde of orks and manged to hold'em off by putting them in the command center. It's like their fire power doubles by garrisoning. As far as offensive they ain't all that great. You can try to put the IG in the transport, they can still fire from the vehicle, but the transport gets blow up fast.

Guard is the only race really that requires thoughtfull thinking and not wasting your men. I use a mix of heavy artillary which draws enemie units out of that area to be met with a front line of heavy bolters, A commander with 4 priests (cause of their invulerbal ability) and 2 leman russ. I then use upgraded guardsmen to storm on the flanks and take advantages of points which the enemie has to take a long root round. If you get rushed build tons of none upgrades guardsmen and stick them inside your buildings the more men in it the powerfuller their firepower is! stick a tech priest in and you can fire plasma weapons. Use a guard squad to run around all the time so the other units chase him. If they are combat units this works great because they die quicker cause they are not in meele so they chase some pointless unit while being killed off and not drawing all their force on your buildings.

usualy i run with the tech-priest because i hate it when i am swarmed by 4 orks at the same time,(i usually play me vs 7 allied orks just to "test" myself,i usualy hold for30-40 mins because i can't get artilery,and i have only 2 SP,i will try today on multi player these tactics

PLEASE FAST!!!i need a tactic against a n00b necron player he swarms me with necrons and spawns flayed ones onto my poor uardsmen and doesn't let me tech adn i cant get enough points and he makes his units invisible and GAAAAH he pisses me off so badly 'cause he is a NOOB!!!!i tryed everything,guardsman rush,next amtch fast sentinels &hellhounds next match try to defend and so on HE IS A BLAZIN' NOOB HOW THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO DEFEATA A NECRON n00b with Imperial Guard!?!?!?!

Next game, rush him with guardsmen with nade launchers, knock down effect is perfect against necrons, he will be weak because Necrons suck when rushed. So why you have him in the shit, keep upgrading, capture points near his base and build heavy bolters just outside it and fire in with artillary. Take advantage of your heavy bolter turrets and build them next to his base, you have some fire power that way.

Vs crons you need to be in his base say first minute i reckon, harra with your first guard squad, try killing his builders before they can get the power/ summoning core, back them up with a command squad and have another guard squad on the way, in the mean time have one other guard squad doing all the capping, go for map control vs crons, they can't deal with it.

sorry i tryed that it didn't work he make necron lord first...grenade launcher rush didn't work either,tanks didn't do thejob as he made monolith,he deletes his first 3 flayed troops and then builds another 3 and rezurects the dead ones so he can spawn his flayed ones into my guardsmen...nothing can crack this dude as ig...i am waiting for a 1337 tactic now...aa i did the turret thing 2 nothing worked so far,couldn't get banebalde in no game ... neither kasrkins nothing altho the game lasts around 1 hour or so..the map we always play ios kasyr lutien

you play 1v1 on kasyr?

Unbelievable no wonder nothing works, with the size of the map. And you as guard should win that. The larger the map, the more easier it is for you to get resource controll and overspam him. And he's a resur abuser eh? Well, why do you allow him to get as far as resurruction? Don't tell me you play qs?
