when a troops morale reaches 0 what happens beside the unit shouting:"The emperor has abandoned us",glowing red and moving faster?
When moral runs out your squads overall combat effectiveness such as accuracy and damage will drop significantly.
Also, some units move faster when their morale has dropped allowing them quicker escape. And yeah as said above ^ their effectiveness at dealing damage is much poorer than B4. :p

All the more reason to trash imp guardsmen, and pick space marines
All squads do next to no damage when they break. I also believe that Chaos Horrors take slightly more damage when broken.
When morale goes to zero, the squad is "broken" and they do next to no damage, get killed faster, run faster, and just downright suck until they regain morale. As for the "trash Guard and pick SM", that's a load of doodoo! As IG, you're supposed to keep those Guardsmen in check and keep some "reserve" forces behind the main line. If a squad breaks, you replace it. You just need a little bit of micro-managing skills.
